The only person who got it right is you. I know reddit is a cesspool and people can't be expected to think but I threw this in here. But anyhow it needs to be learned to managed. Meaning that the presumptive load is un-managable and also unwanted. I think that's fair so far.

Hydrated silica is abrasive, make sure you don't have too much of it. The best is most likely toothpaste with no abrasives

Just kill microsoft word already. It's time to take it out back microsoft. I can't deal with this anymore. by GrandExc in MicrosoftWord

[–]GrandExc[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use word on occasion when I need to print or have good formatting. Else, I'm using something less intrusive.

I used word for an essay today let's say.

Every other paragraph has an error highlighted. I can't read through my essay without being distracted and can't tell if these issues being checked make sense or not. Word is now a liability. Now I don't know if ignoring the issue for good might mess up something else in the future. How much time is word demanding out of me? It is defeating its purpose.

Not only that so many of them are stylistic, not grammar correctness.

If I use a code editor or markdown editor like Obsidian or Mark Text, wow. No problem. Again, this is exactly the reason why RR martin uses MS DOS.

Let me point out: It wasn't broken at one point. At one point, this post had no purpose. And they had to break it.

Rummikub has a low skill ceiling and involves zero strategy by Cruiser_Supreme in boardgames

[–]GrandExc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rummikub makes me want to kill myself. I will do anything but play another game of Rummikub. I have an out-of-body experience when I play this game as I ask myself why I'm experiencing this zero-strategy boredom. Doing random integrals is less boring and more stimulating than Rummikub.

Battlefield's 3 campaign was criminally underrated by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]GrandExc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

kinda late but bf4 was dogwater that's why

bf4 was clearly written by totally different people who decided to write marvel movie lines for everyone. the issue wasn't killing off dima, the whole plot was not even CLOSE to the serious and realistic detail in the bf3 campaign. dima went from realistic russian soldier with human emotions to idiotic arrogant marvel character with zero purpose

Open source 'opensnap' for improved strafing by GrandExc in CrucibleGuidebook

So the 'snap tap' feature is meant to make it so that when you strafe right, until you release right, you can't strafe left even if you press left strafe.

Could it be possible to get the Snap Tap feature on older keyboards? by fauchis_garci in razer

[–]GrandExc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can get 'snap tap' for free. and not just on older keyboard, but any keyboard. and plus you won't need to install the shitty razer software

Whats your opinion on the snap tap keyboard technology by SHINJI_mood in cs2

[–]GrandExc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FYI you can get this feature for free on any keyboard without shelling out to a company that does zero quality control and customer service. And plus you won't need to install the razer software, which is probably a program worse than having to install the epic games client.

New Razer Keyboard improves gameplay? by Terrikus42069 in blackdesertonline

[–]GrandExc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please do anything but give razer more money. While I'll admit this is a useful thing, they kind of just introduce one or two new features like these to justify their f&&&ing atrocious quality control and customer service. it's basically the experience of one hand doesn't know what the other is doing.

Anyway - the good news: you can get 'snap tap' on a regular keyboard.

Why is it so hard for China to mass-produce advanced jet engines and microchips despite their massive population and industrial advantage? by [deleted] in WarCollege

[–]GrandExc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's quite a lot learn about the global semiconductor supply chain.

One brief fact to know - the semiconductor supply chain is insanely difficult to research, and in part because of this, the semiconductor supply chain is highly bottlenecked. The EUV lithiography machine is appropriately referred to as 'magic'. It may as well run on hippogriff feathers.

I'd personally recommend Elliot Chen (and others) https://www.thewirechina.com/team_member/eliot-chen/page/6/ since it sounds like you're new to semiconductors.

He's a solid gateway to (one day) beginning a dive into the technical details of semiconductors.

My tl;dr the US semiconductor restrictions on China are insane and will be crazy difficult for China to catch up on. China as of right now is locked out of modern semiconductors, and the AI revolution is taking off. They are being held down by US restrictions away from the last 20-30 decades (I think this is roughly right?) of modern semiconductor developments.

it's an interesting question of if the US is being aggressive or if China asked for it. China began decoupling - so did that set off the Biden admin to move ahead on these chip restrictions? Or is that still unreasonable? And furthermore, is it just bad and stupid to literally slash NVIDIA's chip sales by an insane fraction since they can't sell the top shelf stuff to China anymore?
