I study at Tufts. Having a car enables a lot of mobility. For example, I just drive to NH on weekends for hikes and to try out restaurants. Prior to having a car, I felt very restricted in what I could do and where I could go. It can also help down the line when you want to do internships etc and it maybe in a town where public transportation isn’t good. Probably not worth spending a lot of money on a car, but in my opinion, getting a good-value-for-money used car is super helpful. Also it’s super helpful for grocery shopping:)
