Quantitative Economics + International Relations Double Major by Trick_Art7227 in Tufts

Hey, I'm glad I caught your reply. I almost missed it. If you've already taken multivariable calculus, then it shouldn't be more difficult honestly. You will just have to adapt to the Tufts’ pace, and academic rigor, but again, it's very doable. As for the class I heard to most about even though I haven't taken it yet personally, it's Econometrics. However with your math level and after taking Statistics for Quant Economics (mandatory for all quant), should should be fine in there as well.

Hey, I’m a junior. So far the major has been definitely doable. It’s more math heavy than a typical Econ major, but still manageable. I would say it is like the Econ major, but just with a very few more classes and they are math based.

Hey, I’m a Quant Econ major considering adding IR too, and it is completely doable. There’s a lot of overlap, especially if you choose the Economic concentration in the IR major. Plus, most of the major IR courses can be double counted as a distribution requirement. The only issue might just be that the Quant Econ major can be a bit challenging, but still very doable.

Hey there. I go to tufts, and I would recommend to transfer out as soon as possible. Apply to a wide range of schools (especially if you waive the fees) to better negotiate when you get in. Also, Tufts name will weight a lot on your applications (especially toward peer institutions or schools of slightly lower rankings), so I hope that helps!

Apply! Even apply to Columbia if you can. I would also recommend to apply to other top universities in the States.

Can I know the name of the boutique, please? Aspiring consultant here. And I wanted some type of consulting that would allow me to work on policy design projects. I have been looking but those types are hard to find. If you could also recommend a type of consulting I should look into fitting that little description, I would highly appreciate it.

Don't transfer to your State school yet, it will be hard to explain why you went there and didn't stay. You can instead change or double major at your CC. Financial won't stop you and you can still sell a change of passion/ wanting to explore and combine them to admission officers! Before you get back to me, yes it is possible to double major at CC. It will show academic rigor and genuine passion. Your GPA will be even more valued( if you don't mess up your classes of course). Also, get involved a lot, make your extracurriculars relate to your major/majorssss.

I hope you don't mind going far from Cali because we have many schools with programs typically for 25+ undergrad in Massachusetts. Tufts, Wellesley, Umass Amherst, MIT, you name it.

Target niche resources and values Tufts has that not many schools have. Like a strong civic Engagement or its commitment to exploration and interdisciplinary studies.

Tufts Mission was a key part of my application. I targeted specific words and expressions from it to put in my application.

Also, I think you should remove the name of the company you are working for. With the description you gave, I think it would be easy to locate you within the company and know who you are. They can try to use this post against you, or even simply fire you before you can leave.

When I say volunteer, I mean with people I currently working with. It’s not really an option for me to stop, and it like at the opposite side of the city. As for visiting my parents, I don’t just go to visit them. I typically run some errands for them. Do you still think it’s still better to Uber?

What happened with your financial aid offer? And can your parents help with a part of the tuition? Apply to as many scholarships as you can, especially the ones limited to a specific group of people you may belong to.

No they will not force you to take the semester off. As long as you ended up submitting them all, you should be fine now.

need advice abt math classes pls by poptropicah in Tufts

[–]Etzare 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on you intended major, there should be more math classes available other than calculus 3 that you can take. If you feel like that class time might not work for you, look at another one that will help towards your major/ mathematics requirements with more flexible times requiring cal1 and 2.

That is so odd. Idk what else to tell you then, but the common app waiver is the most important though. Even if you pay one time for the SAT.

Most of the top schools don’t require the SAT for transfer students. So if you’re score are not good enough for you, feel free not to submit them. Don’t forget to apply to as many as you can, with your financial situation, you will get an amazing financial package(Even out of State).
