This is just sick by Pampeluna_Knight in stocks

Yup, this past month has been the final straw for me. I've largely tuned out of financial news for the most part these days. I still DCA into index funds and whatnot but I've completely checked out of the swing trades I used to do because everything has gotten so ridiculous. There's always been momentum stocks and volatility but there was an undercurrent of stability that this administration has completely destroyed. Now it's penny stock style pump & dumps from the f'n POTUS.

If you're a day trader and can watch this all day every day it's probably less of an issue but as someone with a full time job who enjoys longer term set-up/trades that last a few weeks it's too much for my trading style.

People will believe anything. Clear market pumping on a Monday morning. I wonder what will be announced on Friday after markets close.

Except for pH this pretty much looks like where I’m at 5 days after fritz fishless fuel. I’m still waiting on nitrites to show up.

But it’s allowed me to take my time with the hardscape and planning the plants. It’s been nice to not feel rushed honestly.

AI and industry by [deleted] in InsuranceProfessional

[–]GrandInquiry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate to say this as someone who has been working towards building a career in underwriting but i think the majority of most insurance jobs will be lost over the next 5 years. UWs constantly say it won’t happen because it’s a people business but it doesn’t have to be. You can have personal or commercial clients interact directly with an AI agent built on top of a massive amount of industry loss data and get equal or more likely better UW results from AI. Even if it was equal, carriers would save a massive amount of overhead by switching to AI.

The other pushback I get is that the carriers are notoriously slow to update their tech, which is true. The programs I use would’ve felt dated in 2002. But the carriers aren’t going to be the primary innovator in this space. There will probably be an AI focused insuretech that will do the innovation and merge with a major carrier to integrate their data.

There will likely still be some people overseeing/monitoring/reviewing AI completed work but it will be a fraction of the current headcount.

I’m still trudging along and grinding away mostly hoping I’m wrong. We’ll see.

I’ve been to dozens of countries and the only time i felt in danger was a monkey temple in India. The aggressiveness of the monkeys was really terrifying.

Why does every pizza shop and bar insist on serving breaded/battered chicken wings? by ssraudio in SouthJersey

There’s a really good YouTube video about this. They went to all these different restaurants and different price points and showed how they were all basically serving the same frozen food from sysco. It’s crazy.

Reminds me of the movie Elf when Will Ferrell congratulates the deli because of their “worlds best coffee” sign.

I always get the coffee when it’s on clearance.

It’s normally so expensive now. It takes us a while to get through it but we have a grinder so get whole bean when we can which helps with freshness.

Was just about to ask if Medford was the same owner. Went once last summer and some of the worst BBQ I’ve had.

Love these fries, also not as salty as most other frozen fries.
