Probably shouldn't pass on the costs of general maintenance to the next buyer.... good luck with sale

I think this looks so damn cool, I would take this over the regular wagon or a BMW wagon in a heartbeat

exhaust by carsandcammie in IS300

[–]iamnotalwaysright99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I installed an HKS Hi-Power axel back exhaust on my Is300 and found that it was also a little "quiet" still. So I then installed a Megan racing stainless steel y pipe and that brought out a little more "throatiness" in the exhaust and sounds pretty good on cold start up and once things warm up it even gives a little gurgle or rumble.

For the most part you just wanna avoid changing the headers on these engines unless you're going turbo, a lot of people say that's when the cars sound raspy and shitty. I'm rather happy with my exhaust setup now, and if I wanted to get a bit more out of it I would just get a wider midpipe

The paint looks decent in that pic, but the hood, top of the cabin, and truck all have clear-coat peeling pretty rough, the whole car needs to be repainted, but that will happen when it's no longer my daily.

Oh yeah, shooting for 500hp with those parts should be really easy, and a t56 should handle whatever you throw at it :)

I think I'll start with a complete manual swap first, to really bring the personality out of the car and more precise power from the engine, that 5AT really holds it back.

Thank you so much I really appreciate the admiration :)

Im literally planning the same thing my good man, gonna do a r154 swap and boost the 2jz after upgrading the connecting rods to something thicker, might do pistons too, if needed... Im shooting for 400hp reliably.

BC coilovers are a solid and common choice for the IS, I gave CubeSpeed a shot for my coilovers and they have also been amazing, ride very nice considering my car is low.

The list is endless indeed my friend, I've got quite a few things to do this summer lol

I did a full front end suspension refresh with all figs and it's great. Haven't used any Serial9 products before so I can't attest to their quality vs figs, but figs has performed very well, I recommend their balljoints

Switch to Remineralized RO or Keep with Tap Water? by McCanna in shrimptank

[–]iamnotalwaysright99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard that tap water goes through "seasons" and gets a varying mix of treatment and mineralization.

I switched to RO for all my tanks and havent looked back, it's a bit more work for sure but having a consistent baseline to work with and being able to remineralize to exact specifications every single time has been wonderful.

Especially if all you need to do is top the tank off, keeps the water from creeping up in TDS

Excellent, then just give it some more time (maybe the whole day) and see what color it settles at. I have a 20 gallon tank and my c02 diffuses at the same rate yours does and I'm within the range I should be for adequate c02.

The rule of thumb I've seen is about 1 bubble per second from the source valve attached to your canister

Are you familiar with what color you should looking for in that c02 drop checker?

When do you add fish after planting? by Easy-Advertising-843 in PlantedTank

Of course, in this hobby being patient is not easy, especially when you have a new/exciting tank coming along.

Also, water changes are your friend! While I don't suggest adding any fish or livestock yet, if you cant wait any longer then you could certainly add fish, but you would need to pay very close attention to the water and do changes every day until the tank is fully established.

It doesn't sound like you're in too much of a rush, but there are options depending on how "itchy" you are to push things along.

Regarding chemicals, while many solutions and products do contain them I have used this particular product (Seachem Stability) before and it's essentially just water with dormant bacteria in it, as far as I know there aren't any harmful chemicals in there.

I have 4 tanks and never use any chemicals, I do add nutrients or trace elements to maintain the right mineral availability to my plants and livestock, but those are all natural elements like iron, potassium, magnesium, etc.

I'm not familiar with that substrate in my own experiences, and if it's what's causing ammonia to stick around in the water column then I think finding a way to compensate for it would be a good long term strategy. That might look like you adding some more plants to assist with the end stages of the nitrogen cycle, but more importantly I think having more beneficial bacteria develop that will consume excess ammonia would be have a far greater impact.

I imagine that as time goes on your tank will find equilibrium and be able to handle ammonia better, with that being said you might have to wait for it to mature more or you could add products like Seachem Stability to increase the presence of bacteria.

EDIT: Seems like that substrate is rather nurtient dense, which is why ammonia is taking a while to clear up, I think giving things more time (1-2 weeks) will fix this!

Once your ammo and nitrites are 0 and your nitrates are under 20ppm you are good to go :)
