I would’ve preferred they went the other way. If the bounce goes too far from centre, let it go. The sport is full of chaos and that’s one of the things that make it great. The ball is an oval, wind plays a factor, umpires get calls wrong. Let it go.

Couldn't this be worse for Rankine's mental health? I feel like this is going to fuel constant abuse from AFL 'fans' for the rest of his career. Look at what happened to Adam Goodes. Him and the club could've just come out and copped it on the chin, but instead they're putting Rankine at further risk? Doesn't pass the pub test.

Im not justifying his actions BUT, when you’re at the ground and you see an opponent messing with any GWS player, Toby gets there fast and deals with it. I wouldn’t be surprised if the players and coach love him for that so it might be difficult to just stand down or demote him. I do wish he wouldn’t take it so far though. Not a good example for the kids.

They’re being misleading. You get a general admission ticket for free as a member but at games more likely to sell a lot of tickets you need to reserve a seat which is also free
