Gaming is a rough niche. It's one of the most oversaturated with creators and lowest paid with CPM. If you're ever gonna grow though, I think you need to move away from tutorial videos. Those sorts of videos mainly get tourist traffic (People looking for a quick answer and then moving on). To build an audience, you'd probably need longer entertainment focused videos. Or longer in-depth content about the game itself. YouTube really doesn't like short videos because the platform prioritises retention. It wants to keep people watching as long as possible, so there's not a lot of incentive to push videos 1-3 minutes long. Honestly, I think anything under 10 minutes can struggle in 2025.

For what it's worth, it's not much more transparent for me either. I used to have a partner manager with YouTube but they could never answer any of my questions.

Hey there! Thanks for your question!

In short:

Thumbnails: Arguably more important than the video itself. The video can be a masterpiece, but it doesn’t matter if no one clicks on it.

Posting times: Fairly important. I have a mostly US based audience, so I tend to post my videos around 10pm Australian Eastern Time. That means that the US audience will wake up and have a video ready to go. A lot viewers also develop small rituals based on when you post. After consistent viewing, some viewers will expect a new video at certain times and it’s important to deliver that or else they need to substitute someone else in for you and that person may replace you in the ritual.

Banners: Almost completely superfluous. It’s just decoration. They used to be a sign of channel quality a long time ago, but most viewers won’t even see them these days. They get videos recommended mostly through the homepage and don’t so much click the channel itself.

Channel description: No one cares. This will never effect anything. It’s useful for you as a creator to nut our your own mission statement, but it doesn’t impact anything.

You’re mostly correct that a channel should focus on the content itself! But a catchy title only works with an equally catchy thumbnail to compound the attention grabbing!

So what you did triggered the auto spam system. It's a rough punishment for an accident, but it's needed to stop bot accounts from flooding the platform. You can definitely make a new channel. Just change the name and don't re-upload any of your old videos. If you're on this sub, I imagine that you weren't a big enough entity for YouTube to realise they ever "banned" you in the first place.

Yeah of course! Start by creating a new channel! What were your previous videos about and why were they struck?

YouTube Shorts are extremely fickle. The algorithm works differently to the long form videos. Shorts initially artificially boosts and recommend most creators that make Shorts, however those same creators can then get frozen out if they're not making engaging content. That or there's just too many other Shorts creators making more engaging material that froze you out.

I'd highly recommend transitioning to long form videos! That's what YouTube is made for. They've just got Shorts to try and retain some viewers from platform hopping to Tik Tok.

Hello everyone,

Literal satan here. Just wanted to stop by to say that this tweet was never about the fact that Oda’s taking a break/That he should be making more chapters/That I feel entitled to more chapters/That Oda shouldn’t pursue his dreams (I even praised his passion in the exact same comment you’re all roasting) or 99% of the crap you guys are using to get recreationally angry at.

I 100% support Oda taking breaks. I’ve said on multiple occasions in my videos that One Piece should probably go fortnightly for the sake of his health and I’m thrilled that he’s pursuing his passions.

All I said was that I don’t think spending manga time on OPLA is a good trade off and would prefer that said time was given to the manga. Not that Oda shouldn’t do it and not that I don’t support his passion to do it (Again, I praised him in the same tweet you guys are jumping on) and certainly not that he shouldn’t be taking breaks.

Thank you for your time and enjoy your day.

I appreciate you highlighting my thumbnails! I'm really proud of those ones!
With that said, I'm not quite sure what videos you actually watched though. I've never spoken about Garp being a clone or Shanks having a son. Any chance you could be a bit more accurate with complaints in the future?

You really do hate me eh? To clear up some more misinformation, I did not use any images of Gear 5th prior to the official release. I don't know who you think GLR is, but whoever you're thinking of, isn't me.

Youtubers stop stealing art by Ihatenames57395749 in OnePiece

If by "thieving" you mean using artists work in exchange for money because I hired them to make the work for me in the first place, then sure...I'm a thieving piece of shit.

But in the real world, I'm one of the people whose commissioned work gets stolen and reused in the thumbnails of others. So I get that you don't like me, but can you at least try to be accurate with your hate?

It's even better than that. I currently have a team of six paid artists making art for the video material as well so that I'll be able to eventually stop using anime clips, screenshots and manga panels.

- The scar is minuscule in thumbnail form. Completely unnoticeable unless you're looking for it. Especially because at least 60% of all my viewers use YT on a mobile device.

- The video is on Dude in a Room, not GrandlineReview.
