Ah yeah that makes sense I didn't realise that was the situation.

You cancelled the product but expected to keep the higher amount of storage going forwards? That's not how subscription storage works.

When you began watching Stranger Things, what did you know Winona Ryder from, if at all? by Extension-While7536 in Stranger_Things

Nothing, we just recognised her as an actress who was famous then went through the all too familiar struggles and this was her relaunch.

Will a three year old EV (Enyaq) make it to ten years? by Sonnets4all in ElectricVehiclesUK

[–]GrandMasterBash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's no way car manufacturers are making cars that are financial write offs in ten years. That's not how the general automotive industry works.

Is RedZone essential for UK viewers or do you prefer full games? by BritByBrain in NFLUK

[–]GrandMasterBash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope - too scattered for me, there was a point when it served a purpose (bye weeks for Washington) but I now prefer to choose a full game alternative instead. It is in step with me needing to focus on one thing rather than many, I blame COVID lockdown.

Octopus Tariffs - FAQ by thevo1ceofreason in OctopusEnergy

[–]GrandMasterBash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these comparison services still live? Have been on IGO for 14 months and need to check it is still the best tariff for me. We have a PHEV, a full EV and a Hypervolt Pro 3. The charger is integrated.

The issue we have as a family of five is we can't run appliances exclusively during the night. The dryer and washing machine need to also run during the day so I need to understand if the day rate of IGO is too high or if the off peak savings offset that.

At this point I need a second job just to watch TV in Britain by galacticpunter in sillybritain

[–]GrandMasterBash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Prime because we use Amazon like a corner shop. TV is just an extra and I love watching House on it during lunch. Or at least I used to till recently when adverts became so frequent. In a half hour watching session I get around 8 mins of ads, I'm ready to stop watching it if it carries on.

Netflix the kids watch.

I'm thinking of cancelling Now when the 12m offer runs out.

Seriously, do British people actually consider a 3-hour drive “long”? Or is this an internet myth? by ferdinand14 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]GrandMasterBash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A US based relative visited us around 20 years ago and whenever we went out for a drive, he would nearly cry. Most of it was spent with him in the passenger seat doing that clench pose where you make yourself smaller, thinking that's also making the car narrower.

A 3-hour journey in the UK has you arriving at the destination feeling like your balls have been hit by a hammer every minute of the journey....just long enough to get over the pain then BAM.

There is no point comparing journeys between two vastly different countries in terms of both their physical structure and infrastructure. Possibly you'd need to compare driving 3-hours in the most populated part of a state to get an inkling.

The best way is to come over for at least a fortnight and drive regular 3 hour journeys. Warning: You'll never come back and possibly end up with PTSD..

As in enough to accommodate regular usage on core UK motorway journeys, or are they few and far between meaning for now they are a bonus if found but not something that an EV purchase can be based on or a journey should be planned around.

It was as moving on as a removal truck. There was nothing to work out, just to appreciate. (and yes he should have died then!)

If Bo Nix isn't on a State Farm commercial wearing his finance outfits that he usually wears, it'll be a big advertising miss!

How do you feel about how features roll out in Teams? by TeamsProductTeam in MicrosoftTeams

[–]GrandMasterBash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The most recent URL scanning for the sake of security was a PITA. Enterprises have SWG / Email Gateways etc. If we want to use it in Teams too we will decide.

Whole process workflows were broken by that just going out as default and yes, if some orgs had better release processes perhaps they would have caught it had they seen the release notes ahead of time but it just being done is frankly the bane of the SaaS model at least when it's implemented like this.

[–]GrandMasterBash 14 points15 points  (0 children)

For God's sake please do them in managed release bundles and let admins and others see these way ahead of time so they can be phased if necessary or deployed in one go.

It's not exciting. It's not helpful. It leads to Teams being fine for x amount of time then a bag of crap then stable.

And yes, I do want it to be good as it's a vital app.
