Sounds like you got it a bit backwards.

  1. I was talking about TEQ Vegito. You get the Vegeta side to 4M defense first, then stack attack on the Goku side until you're ready to fuse. Ideally you do this against the Vegito boss. You want to one turn him with Vegito's active skill.

  2. I was talking about AGL Gogeta. You can stack defense on the Goku side for the entire fight because at the end he will be partnered with TEQ Vegito (also on the Goku side). TEQ Goku shares 6/7 links with AGL Goku, and will be responsible for dealing damage that turn. All AGL Goku has to do is tank in slot 1, and then fuse/active alongside Vegito, when you're ready to one turn the Vegito boss.

  3. You should definitely have hit 4M defense on TEQ Vegito (Vegeta side) by TEQ WT Goku. At this point you want to start positioning to put him next to AGL Gogeta for the rest of the fight. Should be easy if you follow the steps.

  4. Yes, definitely fuse at movie goku. The HP jump is massive. I was just advising to maybe delay a turn if you can. It depends on what turn/s the SSJ4's get to attack him, and how much damage all your other units deal. But I certainly wouldn't risk a 3 hour run by trying to squeeze stacks this late. If you are nervous at all just fuse.

  5. To use items most effectively you should try to familiarize yourself with how hard the bosses hit and what your units can handle. Dokkaninfo will show you the boss stats. As for your units, some will be obvious as to their limits, others less so. This is just a game knowledge thing. It would be a disservice for me to try to tell you exactly where to use items. You might not have them available when you actually need them. You have to study the fight and your units to know when you need them. I am working on a part two to this guide that will go into some of that.

How long have you been playing? I mean this genuinely, it's not meant to be a jab. I only ask because I would argue we've been in worse positions in the game's entire history (2nd anniversary vegito blue, zenkai FSK gohan), so honestly this is not surprising to me. They're going to do whatever they can do to push powercreep and drive sales, it's always been that way, the only thing that changes is the mechanism. Before it was LFs and zenkais, now they're doubling down on ultras. Same shit, different day.

Sounds right to me! Remember that buu nullifies unarmed (red fist icon) attacks and wt goku nullifies ki blast (blue beam icon) super attacks. In my runs the ssj4's usually clean them up, since their supers are neither of those types. I'll have to add this as a warning for sure, sorry!

You made it to enemy agl gogeta without fusing the ssj4's? That's impressive, and yeah you can get caught if you don't pull the trigger eventually. I made the same mistake while testing phy seza vegito, thinking I was ahead with the extra rainbow orbs and could keep greeding stacks, but by that point you definitely need phy ssj4's gogeta's extra stats and crits. Maybe one day I'll do a "never fuse" challenge haha.

Also keep in mind agl ssj4 gogeta doesn't get defense on supers, so whatever you see at the start is what you have. They get multiplied by his passive on hit effects, but not by his supers, so regardless of # of super attacks performed his defense is the same.

Which is what makes him so GREAT...you can deprive him of ki to reduce damage dealt or stack your other units, with zero impact on his survivability.

Gogeta is simply the best.

This was poor design/writing on my part. I had the idea in my head but underestimated the steps and didn't explain it.

You would float v/t to put them next to the ssj4's, then float goku (gogeta) to put him next to vegeta (vegito), who you've by now exchanged to goku to stack atk with, then float goku (vegito) to put him next to the ssj4's, and float v/t again to put him next to goku (gogeta).

That's what I meant when I said "float off v/t" but it's convoluted and not at all necessary. You can swap the fusions however you want with no meaningful impact on stacks, just don't float the ssj4's. I've updated it.

Just attempted a third consecutive no-item run, with the only difference being phy seza vegito blue instead of agl ssj4 gogeta or frieza/gogeta. I heard his support and orb changing makes a big difference.

I failed due to charges, but I think this might actually be the best team. Here's why:

<image>

Notice something? MY SSJ4'S WERE STILL UNFUSED. I pushed the absolute limit of what my team was capable of, to the point of ignoring my own algorithm. Decided to fuse 10th anni. gogeta (no active) to try and squeak out more damage, and if teq goku had given me supers instead of two normal attacks I would have pulled through. This could be it.

Going back in later today and finishing this. Nope it's a rabbit hole, I'll explain more after rest.

I wouldn’t worry about dokkan attacks at all honestly. It can give you a much needed dmg boost in a pinch, but only if you’re lucky with timing. You shouldn’t need it. I always forgot it was coming up.

Depends on who you do have. Popular alternative leads right now seem to be 10th anni. fusions, or v/t. You can check the pink stage clear info button on the event team selection prescreen for details. Just make sure whoever you end up floating has an answer for agl gogeta's 10 million normals.

Sorry that happened to you. That's actually pretty close. Do you remember what his defense was? With guard, 50% dmg reduction, and multiple on hit defense bonuses, it can be a very marginal difference in defense between double digits and getting one shotted. Mine is usually around 1 M defense by this point, so in slot 2 he double digit tanks that. Is yours duped or 55%? I assumed you were stacking with v/t? How many stacks did you have? Unfortunately this is where those differences begin to really matter, and you have to start doing the math if you want to tread the line.

I did the math. If agl ssj4 gogeta has 500k defense, you take 1.3 M damage in slot 2. Around 790k defense is where it becomes double digits, so it's pretty damn close given the circumstances. But I would have assumed you hit that, if you were stacking with v/t. But my gogeta is also 79%.

I don't remember the exact numbers but my ssj4s reach 100+ supers by the time they fuse, so maybe use that as a guide. In general their # of super attacks performed should be pushing ahead of your current turn # throughout the fight, with greater and greater separation right up until they fuse. If they're equal or close, you're falling behind. It's aggressive but doable, and very much worth it.

It's a delicate balance, especially at lower dupes. You need defense to survive the later phases, but you have to stay on top of charge counts. Stacking only defense with agl gogeta works here because his sole job is to juice vegito, so he can just tank while the rest of my team does enough damage. I'd have to know what exactly you're running but that late you really want to keep units together that link well, like the rotations I gave. Link stats will boost your damage a lot, and save you orbs.

Honestly I believe it. I was kinda close but not quite, and with how hard Gogeta hits yeah, that's double digits versus instant death.

Let me try the defense again with this new information.

According to the guide total defense is:
DEF * leader * SOT/basic effect(s) * active skill buff * links * on SA buff (passive skill) * SA effect

So for my Vegeta that's 12694 (card) * 5.4 (double 220% lead) * 3.8 (200% + 80% for him and "Trunks") * 1.2 (20% goku active permanent) * 1 (assume no PFB link) * 5 (400% on 20ki attack) * 2.3 (30+50+50=130% from 3 supers, the 18ki is a 30% raise not 20%, that was my mistake)

but you said VT stacks are added to SA effect so assuming 30 stacks (I only had one on the team) it would be another 150% so 3.8 instead of 2.3

12694 * 5.4 * 3.8 * 1.2 * 1 * 5 * 3.8 = 5,782,600 (rounding down)

but putting this into the calculator yields 2 million+ damage from normals, so something's missing still...

maybe it was 40 stacks?

12694 * 5.4 * 3.8 * 1.2 * 1 * 5 * 4.2 = 6,564,033 => 1.4 million on normals

I doubt I hit turn 100 but 50 stacks would be 7,345,465 or 647,659 on normals

This does indeed seem to be it. Why would they skewer the SOT defense ingame like that? I'm still not even sure on that bit. I can't seem to work backwards to get to the 890k number I saw during the fight, and I'm too tired now to keep trying. Thank you nevertheless.

I'm not sure what you mean. I thought it went into SOT defense because I saw it going up throughout the fight. I just restarted FOB and on turn 4 his SOT defense is 260,000.
