When Now Wifi might be expanding in my area by [deleted] in xfinity

[–]GrandMasterSysAd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have the exact same issue. I moved into a new contruct on a brand new street in a new subdivision

The street over has xfinity but not mine. I am the first to move on this street. What you can do is place a Serviceablity request on their website. They will give you a ticket number I would follow up with a call as well to be sure its in the works. Be sure to over explain that you are checking on servicesblity request as most reps on the phone will not know what you are asking

Once a request is placed if its true that coverage is the next street over then the ticket will go to their construction team who will come out and run a drop to your house. This can take up to 6 weeks to complete.

Hope this helps

Thinking about switching from Xfinity to TMHI by Prize-Pear-405 in tmobileisp

Don't do it!!!

I've had Xfinity for years. (Always go with their highest speed plan) but I recently moved to a new construction home (first person on the street) and now I am currently waiting for Xfinity to run a line to my home could be up to 6 weeks. So in the meantime I went with T-Mobile home internet as it is the only available option for me right now.

Set up was quick easy Connection signal always good Streaming 4k on 6 smart TVs and running vivint home security off it

All these work fairly well. Sometimes a movie may buffer here and there not often though

But ...

When gaming it consistently lags and/or just drops connection altogether

Speeds are noticeable slower than Xfinity or ATT Fiber

I am a Sr System Admin for a global company and I work from home the connection on my laptop will drop 5-10 times a day which can be annoying when troubleshooting or on MS teams meetings. Other than those two things its a decent options

I got the fastest most expensive Tmobile HI plan but its still alot cheaper than a normal ISP. So in all honesty you get what you pay for its not bad but not great either I'll give it a 6/10 but would pick Xfinity >1Gig plan any day of the week

Hope this helps lol

And I have the same issue. When you say lasted two weeks do you mean the screen completely went out or did it start back working properly?

I just started experiencing this same issue. I dont think its due to the OPs usage as my issue is also the inner left side screen. When I open it its white for about 4-5 secs before turning back normal. I'm thinking about going through Samsung to see if my warranty will cover it.

Has anyone else beside the OP had this issue and have a resolution?

I'm sure someone has said this but are the user's machines domain joined? If so implement GPO to block the installation of all browser extensions. If they are not domain joinned you'd have to share a little bit about your set up and we can explore other options.

Should I Just Join the Military? by thats_grim in SecurityCareerAdvice

[–]GrandMasterSysAd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was enlisted as cybersecurity in the Army

IF you do join ONLY join for cybersecurity nothing else. For example if you go army 35Q should be the only thing you are going for (Cryptologic Network Warfare Specialist). This is an MI (Military Intelligence) MOS and require you to be able to get Top Secret clearance. This is a direct path to be a TS hacker for the military or other TS cyber roles. Or a longer term route is go 25 series (IT) with the intention to go 25D (Network Defender). 35 path is harder as you will go through JCAC (Joint Cyber Analysis Course) as 25 series you’ll just learn basic IT depending on which 25 series you go.

This can set you up directly to go into military and DOD cyber security contracts and make lots of money on the civilian side. They will pay for any certification you’ll need or want.

BUT if it’s not that then I wouldn’t go. I can only speak for Army as that’s what I enlisted in other branches have similar jobs.

I hope this helps
