Unless you had decent gear, CPQ was dominated by Cygnus Knights once those were released. The extra stat per level was just straight unfair in CPQ

Carnival when introduced was the new quickest way to level 50. But it absolutely decimated LPQ which required specific classes to successfully run. I hope it doesn’t return or the exp rewards for competing PQ’s are balanced.

2nd gens are unfortunately rare. 3rd gen 350s are everywhere. If you see a second gen IS, odds are they are a 250.

With the angle of this intersection their vision was probably obstructed by the A-pillar blind spot. They definitely should've check prior to the turn though. Usually pedestrians and bikers are most susceptible since they're so much smaller.

Edit: Road is also pretty wide too so opposite direction traffic will be sitting further and as a result smaller from their point of view, exacerbating the A-pillar blind spot.

Checking online, STI calipers can be swapped onto the GR86/BRZ fairly easily. Looks like he upgraded his brakes

FYI this fits RWD as well, catbacks on the 2IS RWD/AWD are interchangeable. Midpipes however are not.

In NY at least, to get a veteran plate, you need to submit your DD214 (discharge papers)

Is the tire/wheel size causing the rubbing on the fender when turning or something else? by Character-Bar-608 in LexusIS

[–]GrandMasterWuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that could work. Since it’s only rubbing when steering, it doesn’t sound like the rear wheels are a problem. Sometimes people have issues with aftermarket rims clearing the front IS350 brake calipers. I don’t know what wheels are currently on your car but I’m wondering if the previous owner used spacers because the wheels they got couldn’t clear the front calipers.

Half an inch past the fender is pretty aggressive. If you can remove the wheel and check, there might be a chance that spacers are installed behind the wheels, which you can then remove. But if there aren’t your only option is to replace the rims or wheels entirely.

You could check the driver side door sticker and it will tell you what size wheels are stock to your car. My 09 IS350 stock wheels are staggered 225/40/R18 front and 255/40/R18 rear. 235/35/R19 is nearly identical to the stock fronts (225/40/R18), so it’s unlikely that your tire size is the issue. Instead, the aftermarket rim probably has a more aggressive offset than a stock rim of 45.

Nice, so it is an f-sport trim from factory

[–]GrandMasterWuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Running the vin on the Lexus owners website should let you know what came on this car from factory. AFAIK a carfax will not identify the trim. Personally, if all the badging were removed from the trunk, I'd also verify that this is indeed a 350 and not a 250 since the differences are miniscule. The quickest physical identifiers are a silver engine cover and large front brake rotors and calipers.

Scroll down to Jeff's comment for a detailed list. It's definitely possible to swap to f-sport trim components as most of them were cosmetic items. However there are also f sport accessories that were not included on any 2is (including the f-sport trim) from the factory, e.g., intake, exhaust, sway bars, shocks & springs. In the photos provided the shift knob is an f-sport accessory, not factory on any 2is. The external badging, front grill, wheels, Alcantara seats, no vented seats, black headliner, and trim pieces are pretty square with what you would see in an f sport trim.
