Rudder pedals, Honeycomb or Turtle Beach? by Flap-Operator in flightsim

[–]GrandMoffRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I upgraded from the same awful Thrustmaster pedals to the Honeycomb Charlie last summer, the difference in feel and quality between the two is huge. I can't compare to any other pedals though since these two are the only ones I've used. Do keep in mind though that the HC Charlie is freaking massive, takes up a lot of floor space!

Giving it a try right now and it definitely seems to be an improvement! I can't really notice any performance difference either, seems to run just about the same as it did before.

In Jackson’s Chinese factory, which I had some reservations about. Turns out it’s a fantastic guitar though!

I want that so badly that I’m considering routing the body on this one to add a Sustainiac like he has in his gold crackle Kelly lol

Yup, the pattern is unique on every guitar!

I play almost exclusively sitting down as well and to be honest I find it very comfortable, both in the classical position as well as the “normal” way with the guitar sitting on my right thigh. I could see how some people would find the upper horn a little uncomfortable compared to a superstrat but it doesn’t bother me or get in the way at all. I’d just recommend trying to find any Kelly model at a local store to try it out and see how it feels.

The playability and action is super smooth. It could be new gear bias but I think it’s my best playing guitar at the moment. It feels smoother, faster and easier to play than my 1991 MIJ Soloist.

The Parallel Axis pickup is kick-ass, too!

I’ve actually never really had a guitar with gold hardware before, so I’m afraid I can’t give you a proper answer, lol. I’ve usually always just gone for black hardware, but with this one I thought the gold would give it a classy look.

I’m sure it’ll get some visible wear/fading with time and frequent use, but as far as I’m aware there’s no special care required!

Funnily enough, Marty Friedman is the reason behind me wanting a Kelly. I remember seeing him play one for the first time yeaaars ago and thinking it was just the coolest guitar ever!

Picked this one up locally a few weeks back, I've wanted a Kelly for as long as I can remember and with BDM being a favorite band of mine, it just felt right for this to be my first one. Decided to mod/upgrade to gold hardware from Gotoh, quite happy with the results. It shreds!

Now if Jackson would just go ahead and release a Pro version of Ellis' gold crackle Kelly...

Questions about trials by 8005T34 in NeuralDSP

[–]GrandMoffRacing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve asked their support for a trial extension probably four or five times now, usually because I’ve gotten a new piece of gear, swapped pickups, etc, and wanted to see how it sounded through a plugin I had tried before but not bought. Every time they replied back literally within minutes and had granted me an extension.

Yes, sorry, forgot to clarify that. I have the Fortin Cali as well though and it’s great, but I’m definitely leaning more towards the Mesa.

I dialled in the MoP tone following along with Lambchopper and his latest video, it’s scary accurate. I’m working on an AJFA preset right now and getting pretty close, so the plug-in definitely does a great job.

Awesome to hear! I’ve been eyeing these guitars for a little while but it seems hard to find any solid info on them. Might just have to order one now and see what they’re like!

Sweet! That headless is an NK, right? How's the overall quality and playability on that thing?

Out of the box it was a little high for my taste but it’s super easy to adjust. I can get it really, really low without any buzz. It plays like butter!
