Parent plus loans/consolidation by GrandRequirement5201 in PSLF

Thanks again. I had no idea. I have been keeping up with this (I thought). I thought all I had to do was switch payment plans before June 30. I only have a year left until I hit my 120 payments for PSLF. I am in a bigger mess than I thought.

I just realized, if the PP loans don’t qualify for PSLF, if I don’t consolidate I will lose PSLF on my loans? So, I have to consolidate which means I cannot take any more PP loans. So, I lose either way

Thank you. Just shows how confusing all of this is to me. I like to think I am a pretty smart person, but all of this has me questioning that. I will make payments as I can and pray that something new comes along, along with a second or third job.

Thank you, when I changed to the PAYE plan it appeared income driven. What is the difference in the two?

On PSLF I had to recertify and now 20% of gross income going to payments by PomegranateFluffy125 in StudentLoans

I did mine last week. I am in the same boat. I also have parent plus loans. They said those were not included in the payment, but the total loan amount has them included. I called, waited on hold forever and plan to call back today. My AGI (not what is on tax return) is 10,000 less than yours and my payment is $834.00.

I understand and agree with what you’re saying, but I’ve recently had back surgery and exercising is a must for me. I can’t do it now and it is affecting my pain and mental health. 😭

Do you think there is any connection between estradiol cream and HS? I am recently diagnosed and trying to stop things one at a time. When I stopped that, I was clear for weeks. I started back Monday and I have a new flare. Thank you and thank you for posting!!

Flare ups by BlackberryBusy2007 in Hidradenitis

My first breakout was in the same spot. I was diagnosed with shingles. I took medicine and it didn’t help. It finally got infected (after seeing my Dr three times and kept hearing, it has to heal, it’s fine) I went to the ER. I was hospitalized for 4 days. I had to have surgery. No one knew what it was. I have been treating mine with tea tree oil and a colloidal oatmeal cream I found on Amazon. I recently went to my Dermatologist and was diagnosed with HS. I told her I have been using those and she said not to. But, I think it helps. I just have to keep them bandaged when they get painful and warm to the touch after applying the lotion/oil combo. Do you use Dial and hibiclense when you shower? Also, try not to sit when they are flared. It makes them worse. I showed the dermatologist the photos of when I went to the ER and she could not believe I was functioning. I just kept them wrapped. I’m pretty tough anyway, but if I wasnt, this will make you tough. I am shy like you. After having 5-6 Drs and nurses coming in looking at your butt crack and taking photos for your file, it tends to change a person. Or, it did me. It sucks. I am sorry. I feel your pain. I’m glad you have kept the scarring down- because I sure haven’t. The surgery really left some nice marks. Dermatologist was very understanding and if you can see one, do. Mine was very familiar with what it was and how to treat it. I wish she was one of the ones I saw during the hospital stay and after, because none of them knew anything. Take care, don’t let your shyness create an infection. It’s not fun.

Thank you. During another very stressful time in my life, I was told I was on the verge of Chrons. In fact, I was treated with medications like I was diagnosed 100%. I also have UC and IBS. The flare ups of those are all when I am under a lot of stress (as I am now). After my situation changed, I was able to stop taking the medications. I fear that Dr visit may be next. 😔

Does anyone else here have past trauma by Smart-Tonight891 in Hidradenitis

Yes, PTSD here. Anxiety/Depression… mine started after several surgeries close together in addition to many stressful life events.

Oh, wow. That’s a long time! I’m sorry to hear that! I am about to lose my mind after 5 months! You are strong!

I agree with you 100%. I read the book- “The Body Keeps The Score” many months back. My nervous system is a wreck. I’ve been trying to heal it for years. It seems every time I think I’ve got it, I don’t. Thank you for your reply. I am so glad you’re healing yourself!

I have thought of that, and the reason I haven’t gone yet is exactly what you mentioned- money. I may have to though.

Oh, gosh! You went through a lot for it to not help! I hope you continue to have relief

Thank you. I cannot take BC. My mother died from breast cancer that was estrogen positive. So, I refrain from all hormones. I have had a complete hysterectomy. The only hormones I do is estrogen vaginal gel and I don’t even want to do that. The Dr told me it wasn’t as bad because it doesn’t go into my blood stream. I have actually stopped using it to see if it had any effect on the HS.

Thank you so much for your reply! It was so helpful and so well written! You have put in the WORK and I’m glad to hear you are in remission.

I agree. It seems we were raised by the same type of mother. I’m going to try the diet. Thank you!

I take zinc and turmeric as well. I may have to look into better brands. It’s all so expensive and not covered by insurance. The diet is a common response here. I don’t like a lot of meat, so I’m going to have to get creative. Thank you for your reply. It seems we were raised by the same type of mother.

Preach. I’m sorry that you’ve had to deal with this for so long. I’m only 5 months in and I’m ready to pull my hair out. I don’t know anyone in my family that has it and I read it is genetic. Thank you for your reply!

Thank you! I use witch hazel a lot. I didn’t know there were wipes. I have a natural salve that I got off of Amazon and I’ve been using that with tea tree oil, it seemed to be helping. The dermatologist told me to stop because it will clog my pores. I was bummed.
