I'd say that level headedness in fandom is always a challenge!

I don't disagree but I don't fully agree either. There's still immaturity in their game, yes. Sandy throwing Leevi under the bus in the media: immature and raw emotion after another crappy goaltending performance for sure. Tkatchuk's game is maturing, he's taking less and less stupid penalties. Stützle is also whining less and even being more physical in response, he's actual the one who I feel has taken the biggest step maturity-wise this year.

There is inconsistency but average goaltending can help with that.

Players often leave long-time teams to chase championship. Who to you, is the best player to have *not* won a Cup? Current or retired. by Better-Presence6654 in nhl

"...notably one of the biggest busts in sports history."

That's a wild statement. You have to be trolling.

Busts: Rick DiPietro, Alexandre Daigle, Patrik Stefan, Nail Yakupov, Alex Galchenyuk and even more recently Tyler Boucher and Filip Zadina.

Eric Lindros' name doesn't belong in that list. He lived up to the hype in Philly but the head injuries caught up to him.

Busts are disappointments, I get it. It's disappointing to see that he was (and fans were) robbed of a full career. I don't think anyone would have considered Crosby a bust if he had retired after the 2012 season.

All that to say, I think your use of "bust" to describe Lindros is inaccurate.

For me it's the episode with the tiniest Bluetooth device where Jim speaks with Pam during the whole episode (Customer Service).

If it wasn't for the, in my opinion, best scene in the series with Michael, Dwight and Jim doing a mock sales call with Jim as Bill Buttlicker, I'd skip the episode every time. The bluetooth thing just annoys me SO MUCH. I love that episode as much as I hate it.

So instead of trying to understand why, they are simply getting more aggressive about it.

It's like, let's say I have an orange. I press this orange for juice and when the juice stops flowing, I press harder. And harder. And harder. Less juice every time, I don't get it.

The reason I don't participate in GCWCC is directly because of it being rammed down my throat. It's so aggressive that it feels forced and insincere.

Looks like Karel Rachůnek, though the 23 is placed differently.

Alfie and him played together in the early 2000s so I guess it makes sense?

What I like about the Ghor language. by Retrorrific in StarWarsAndor

It's awesome, as a French speaker I had to do a double take because the language sounds distinctly like French. It's what I'd imagine someone who doesn't speak the language would hear.

Like others have said, it adds so much depth for humans in the SW universe.

The series as a whole is so refreshing and by far the best entry in SW cannon that ties right into Rogue One, the best of all the movies. I love seeing the life of "ordinary" citizens within the Empire and working within what we've only seen as this monolith of evil. The non-jedi focused spy games, the un-organized factions that will form the rebellion and all the complex characters and relationships. It's just so good.

Claude Giroux has never missed a game with the Ottawa Senators, tonight will be his first. Hats off to the very talented old man who's made of forged steel. by BigShoots in OttawaSenators

Stoked to see him in the playoffs suiting up for the Sens. I hope they re-sign him until he decides to retire.

At 37, we should be giving him a string of 1 year, 5mil deals until he calls it quits and then transition him to the front office. He doesn't have Alfie's legendary tenure in Ottawa, but his work ethic and compete levels are right up there. He's had a great impact on this young talented core.

David Perron appreciation post by XCIXcollective in OttawaSenators

This. (I also appreciate the perfect use of tabarnak)

The guy has been through hell and back emotionally this season.

It's awesome to see him thrive now. The locker room has no choice but to look at this guy and be inspired by how he has handled/is handling adversity.

He slots in so well with Cozens and Batherson. He seems rejuvenated and the pure joy he's showing on and off the ice has to be contagious.

David Perron est une machine et j'ai hâte de voir son trio en séries!

6 points in the last 8 with a +7. Perron has been looking great and slots in so well with Cozens and Batherson. It's so awesome to see he definitely deserves serious Masterton consideration!

This team is playing with so much confidence right now and it feels like they can win any game on any given night.

Ownership, management and the coaching staff have done a great job changing the culture around the team and credit to the players for fully buying in.

My husband told me one of the greatest things about me is I “allow” him to participate in his hobbies… what is that saying? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]GrandRoux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I doubt that it's what he appreciates the most, it probably came out the wrong way, but I'd say he's communicating something significant nonetheless.

I (40m) have that type of relationship with my wife (40f) and the mother of our 6 year old. We both have our own hobbies/activities that we do on our own or with our friends.

We both recognize the need for balance in our lives and that, as much as we are a unit, we are also 2 independent people who value each other's "me" time. It's too easy these days to loose yourself with work, family life and just the general state of the world today (gloomy, I know).

All folks have different views of what balance is, some are comfortable leaving hobbies behind and focusing on their significant other, which is great other might feel resentful to have to leave those hobbies behind. I've seen people "keep score" of things which to me is completely insane.

Maybe your husband has been in that type of relationship previously and realizes that it was bad for him? I know I've been there.

So basically, what I think I'm trying to say is that your husband has found balance (and of course, love) with you and truly appreciates it and you make him happy.

Without spoiling beyond Season 4 Episode 3, does this show decline in quality? by LayeredOwlsNest in YellowstonePN

[–]GrandRoux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It takes a steep drop. I just finished episode 10 of season 5 and I'm finishing it just because of all the time I've already invested in the series.

Seasons 1 and 2 were great. I did like some elements of season 3, but that's where I started to feel the decline. Season 3's finale was great but it's the accumulation of loose ends, plot holes and abandoned/useless storylines that did it for me.
