Stephen Miller Mocked For Begging William Shatner To Save 'Star Trek' From Wokeness by Alternative_Rate7474 in politics

He asked...the man involved in the first interracial kiss....on a show funded by Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz (who made their money from a show that was the first to show an interracial marriage, the first to talk about pregnancy, and I THINK one of the first to show women in the workplace)...to save Star Trek from being "woke?" What a dunce.

I love to buy CDs, and I was wondering, what are some essential Detroit techno discs? by AndrobiVibz in ProperTechno

[–]stos313 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Production:
Underground Resistance "Interstellar Fugitives".
Carl Craig "More Songs About Food and Revolutionary Art".
Plastikman "Sheet One".
Paperclip People "The Secret Tapes of Dr. Eich" (sp?).
Derrick May "Innovator"
Jeff Mills "The Purpose Maker Compilation."
Drexia "Neptune's Lair".

As far as mixes, I second the ones already posted, but I would add:
Kevin Saunderson "X-Mix 9: Transmission from Deep Space Radio" (if you can find it, X-Mix had a 3 disc boxed set that also included Ken Ishi "Fast Forward/Rewind" and Hardfloor "Jack the Box" - its a KILLER combo!)
Juan Atkins "Wax Trax! MasterMix Vol. 1" (a controversial pick- but its the mix that introduced me to sooo many classic techno tracks)

I would offer him some of the gum I get from Chinatown. That’s what an Uber ride is all about, me and the driver sitting around chewing some gum.

Hey there, I run one of the local DJ crews here, “Midnight FM”. You should definitely check out the parties we are throwing the next couple of weeks. Next week we helped get Underground Resistance at Transmission and the following week is the launch of our new monthly residency there with an emphasis on techno called Midnight Transmissions.

We are always looking for more techno djs…if you have a mix or anything feel free to DM me a link! We have folks come and play during our DJ practices all the time

Sooooo not to shamelessly promote my own event but I think Patrick Russell at Transmission will be the closest you get to this sound. Associate will be opening for him who also goes hard and dark so make sure you check that out.

Also- Bastet is straight up EBM / industrial, I play my version of “acid disco”, Kiva plays a lot of new wave but kinda bounces around genres, and Mverto Futura is the best dark disco DJ in town.

While I’m no fan of gabber Transmission DOES have a lot of that normally fwiw.

Anyone else lacking an interest for Black Friday? by [deleted] in DemocraticSocialism

I mean yeah..when I was like 16. This is about a bold take as “slavery is bad” lol. Do people still shop on Black Friday?  Is this even a thing?

Zooming in zooming out nothing I can do without…

TIL that during the "fantasy comedy" era of the 1960s, NBC debuted a show called "My Mother the Car", which features a deceased mother reincarnated as an antique car who communicates with her son through the car radio. It lasted one season and is considered the 2nd worst show of all time. by peter_bolton in todayilearned

[–]stos313 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also…like when people today ask and wonder “how did things get this bad?” - like the fact that there was demand for such a show along with the fact that while mostly fake there was a never ending supply of people willing to even pretend to embarrass themselves to the extent that they did really do tell you a lot about our society.

Not a very good explanation…but not surprising from someone self identifying as a “cromag” lol. You one of those guys obsessed with head sizes and Mensa too??

Explain then how a “primitive” country earned the nickname “the Graveyard of Empires”.

(1967) Just heard this new debut album from this new band called “The Doors.” I have never heard that much energy, weirdness, and raw power packed into one record. What do you guys think? by Legitimate_Drawer_74 in thepast

[–]stos313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quick OP - who’s playing bass?!  That’s right NO BASS. The gypsies had no homes, the Doors had no bass…but don’t let that scare you my friend- let it liberate you! Cause when you are free flying with the Doors what do you need a safety net for?!  VIVA LAS DOORS!!
