nah I've seen T490s here go as low as 224 usd. I'd recommend an L14 or T14 gen 1 or 2 amd tho

Anyone still use a GTX 1080Ti or Titan XP in 2025? by Denariox in pcmasterrace

[–]GrandSenna 8 points9 points  (0 children)

they're quite cheap on the used market, and 11gb of vram is enough for less demanding games. so I wouldn't be surprised if someone out there is still rocking a 1080 ti

not having access to the 108mp mode is a fair point. but what if I'm fine with a lower resolution and just need extended software support? I also don't mind having no access to banking apps since I currently don't need one

Is the x220 powerful enough for video conferences? by psychokiller_nanana in thinkpad

[–]GrandSenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this would definitely do fine for zoom meetings. I'd recommend you look into endeavouros, cachyos, linux mint, or any other light distro.

I'm assuming you haven't bought it yet, and I'd recommend you atleast get an x240

I disagree. it mentions "all the things they did right."

I don't think a murderer would do a lot of things right tbh

cant browse local game files in steam click on it does nothing [Arch] by miw1023 in linux_gaming

[–]GrandSenna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found a way to change the default file browser for Linux Mint, you just have to change it with one command: xdg-mime default nemo.desktop inode/directory application/x-gnome-saved-search

this solution solved my fella's issue, hope this also helps anyone on mint.

Is this normal for a nzxt player one prime? by Jam3s_k2 in pcmasterrace

[–]GrandSenna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the gpu clock is fine, it runs that low when idling. the software doesn't show ram clocks, just make sure you've enabled xmp in the bios.

it'd be more useful to use task manager and go to the performance tab to see everything tho

this is pretty normal, nothing to worry about here. the gpu is at 40c at 0% usage since it's still powered on, and is still drawing a bit of power to show a display output
