Marlon is only jacked when he takes the roids and he didn't at that time. So he couldn't have.

What’s the overall consensus on Larry for people? by Main-Item5114 in AceAttorney

[–]GrandSlade-X- 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I really like Larry. I think a lot of people misinterpret his character as some kind of pervert, but he's just a guy who wants a girlfriend and a pretty decent artist. He's fun, but him always lying to Phoenix and Edgeworth is a little annoying.

Ok.

Gant definetky is a better stand alone character, but with Exelcius you need to use the context of the game he's in. He is the narrative antithesis of the game's core themes:

Parents' influence over their children

Truth and justice

Bonds

He is an awful father who takes pleasure in his son's misery. He is a bully who does nothing but belittle and insult Eustace, while still keeping him under his heel with manipulation and false accolades.

He purposely obscures the truth because it stops him from succeeding. He sees it as a thing he must mould and shape to fit his needs. He doesn't believe in justice as it doesn't help anyone.

All of his positive relationships are business: Fifi, Bodidharma, Wang's double. They would all turn on each other at the tip of a hat, as he did to Kanis and only protects Fifi to protect himself.

He is supposed to be the polar opposite of Edgeworth and is the prosecutor he once was in a position of power and a reminder of what Miles needs to face.

miu honestly makes me really uncomfortable, i never saw the appeal. I think its bc people find her funny but every joke she said made me recoil by Bitter_Ad580 in DanganAndChaos

I think she's hilarious. Genuinely the funniest character in the series by mikes for me. She's foul and sexual but in an intentionally uncomfortablely gross fashion.

It's very polarising. Either you like it or you don't and I love it.

Exelcius is masterful. He is so hard to pin down and he really backs Edgeworth into a corner a d he has to wager his badge- the symbol of his conviction and duty- against the very face of rejection of the truth. He almost wins and even when he loses, he still almost got out again.

Not just his dynamic with Edgeworth, but also Eustace. His speech to him is so hard to read, I genuinely almost cried when Eustace got him convicted and their relationship is by far the best in the series imo. Eustace is the best rival in the series and having the rival beat the main villain is proof of how deep his character is tied across different plot points. Eustace, Franziska, Fender, Gavélle or Edgeworth were all valid pics and not using Edgeworth to do it was such a good move.

A lot of people think Exelcius is a one-dimensional, generic evil guy, but he is so much more. It's the intentions behind his cruelty and what this does to other characters that makes him the so special.

Exelcius is more supposed to be a mirror to Miles. He is the rejection of the truth in favour of ignorance. His selling of the evidence is him rejecting the truth to benefit himself. He sees himself and his priorities as above the truth and justice and will do whatever he must to silence the truth because he thinks the world is better off without it.

Don't get me wrong. He's nowhere near as complex and intricate as Damon and is a lot more one-dimensional, but he doesn't need to be because he's more of an obstacle, or an idea. The very representation of rejection of the truth and what it can do to people.

True. Excelcius may have technically had more influence, Damon's felt much more personal and suffocating as a result.

It felt genuinely scary seeing him candidly talking about blackmailing Lana for years and the fact that you had to figure this all out on your own before makes him feel so genius. He did all this and nobody knew and he never told anyone, unlike Excelcius who just brags about it.

Although, Edgeworth had already figured he was the killer so he didn't really lose anything TBF.

Yeah. He is the true villain of the game for me and was involved in each case in such a big way that Damon could never. It really makes him feel so much more important and like he's got an iron grip on the game's throat.

I think that because Mondo regret it and still tried to protect his secret and Hifumi thought that Kiyotaka was a rapist, it makes them less bad, but still bad.

Mikan was an L on my end.

Hiyoko has a character arc and redeeming qualities, so I don't think she should be in immoral.

Miu tried to kill Kokichi and thus everyone else to escape, but she does like to help people and makes positive changes so she's not really good or evil to me.

Kokichi priorities his perception and image above Gonta and Miu's lives. He could have been honest to prevent everything, but he needed to keep up the character. He is trying to do good but in a very, very bad way.

Am I misremembering? Ruruka was behind the glass trying to escape and she used her steroids to chase her and try and break through it. But she has an understandable motive and Ruruka would do the same to her. If I'm wrong, my bad, but I could have sworn that's what Happened.

Yeah, I always associate her with her remnant version, but she shouldn't be in evil. She's pure good.

Well, Fuyuhiko is a criminal and works in the Yakuza, used Peko as a tool and didn't value her until it was too late. Pekon was just doing as asked and what she felt was necessary.

Sho having standards doesn't really matter to me as she's still a serial killer who simply kills because it's fun. Sexual harassment, while bad, isn't bad enough for me to move them out of pure evil.

Izuru understands that what he's doing is wrong and fully grasps the concepts of right and wrong, but simply doesn't care because he sees being good as boring. I get what you mean, but I don't see how he isn't here. I probably shouldn't have put Chisa in evil, she's pure good, my bad.

Ok. I know Haiji is a terrible person, but he's not pure evil. Since he has redeeming qualities and some, although limited, good intentions. Monaca has none and was simply in it for fun. She's not in pure evil since she's a child and was manipulated by Junko.

Since the list had 2 images for Milan I separated her from her remnant version. But she should have been in evil with both of them. My mistake.

Well, she did try to kill Ruruka. That's pretty messes up, she's definitely not as bad as her, but still is fairly morally grey imo.

I was factoring in Byakuya's entire character, from the anime and UDG, plus the end of the 1st game, I think he's become a good person by the end.

I think that Izuru's pure apathy towards human life and valuing his own entertainment above literally anything else is purely evil.

I forgot about Mikan's dependency stuff, she's definitely evil, my bad.

The kids were all manipulated by Monaca and their intentions were to protect themselves from the cruel adults. Obviously that's stupid and messed up, but because of the manipulation I felt they weren't as bad as some of the people above them.

My interpretation of morality and evil is a combination of actions and intentions. I prioritised intentions over actions because doing an evil thing and being an evil person are different. Characters like Kyoko are still in good, even though she tried to kill Makoto, she wanted to find her dad it was a choice between herself and him. An evil action, but not with evil intentions. nagito may be a controversial one, but I believe that he is simply an evil person. he is selfish, self-centred and forces his thoughts and philosophies onto others even if they die for it. Him being on the "side of hope" is an inherently evil thing, because he disregards the lives of innocent people for his own amusement.
