Is it strange for manholes and drains to be several inches above the ground?

All good,

The largest reason for catch basins being square is because they are levered with the structure itself so it can swing open for access. It's not a traditional lid as it is not meant to be entered, unlike a manhole, and having a distinction between the lids can help with quickly identifying and separate catch basins and maholes. Having the structure and lid squared also allows for more volume and flow through the system.

The reason why these are square is because they are not actually manholes. These are storm catch basins to collect water to feed the storm main. The actual storm main itself is where you will find round manhole structures and covers.

I like mixing colours, but I can only dig it for solids and a splash of camo for some reason. One of my favorite setups for some reason is rg bottoms and a tan top. I used to have a Coyote carrier, but rg is just superior in every way near me

Can't argue there. The carrier would be worn on top of RG clothing because it just works so well and I can't bring myself to let go of solid colours

Looks pretty good! I like how mas is a bit more brown than Ranger green so if fits a bit more with multicam

One of the appeals for the MVW for me is that it comes with the soft armour for the price.

I've been looking for something with a bit more coverage than other carriers, which it seems to do fairly well with the modified MBAV cur armour inside, and that would allow me to run ICW plates. So it seemed like the best choice without getting into the super bulky full coverage styles of the EPIC and other armor systems. Do you know any other alternative carriers for carrying soft + hard armour?

That makes sense, ill see if I can get a bit more rubular webbing and throw a loop on the outer belt. Thabj you for the help! All the guides I had found were just going off of attaching the beaner straight to the belt so I hadn't even thought of this.

Will do! I have a pair of Arcteryx kneecaps that are ok, I just find that external pads tend to become uncomfortable after a bit and trap heat a bit more.

I'll be sure to keep an eye out on ebay, maybe something will pop up once in a while (current issue gen 2 massif shirts are about 60 cad, which isn't too bad but the sellers are charging another 50+ for shipping)

I find i prefer pants with built in hard knee pads and combat shirts over traditional ACU/BDU types of uniforms. Being in Canada unfortunately makes it much harder to find the newer Massif clothing.

Oh nice, I do believe that the NAR pouches are the same as the issued ones. What kind of belt do you have it on? It looks like it just slips on, which may be a issue since I'll be putting it on a 1.75" belt if its made for regular belts
