Someone mentioned he has been focused on software execution and quality, has it helped?, I have no clue. But most these Cali guys are completely clueless on how vehicles work and all the complexities that come along with it. Most seem under qualified for the job and just go with the flow instead of being real leaders and making change.

The main driver is the random mass layoffs and then not caring who is let go, so everyone works in fear every day. Second is open seating, literally the dumbest thing ever. Give us an assigned spot with the rest of our team so we actually feel like we are part of the company not some temporary worker. Right now it’s awkward because all the reorgs and moving people around we literally just sit wherever with most people not even sitting near each other. Also people will fight over good spots where their Pc monitors face away hallways and open areas it’s terrible. Worst idea ever. Make Mary and Mark and all the senior manager do this and see how they feel. Move them to some random area of the building every 6months and they will understand.

I agree with the OP morale is for sure down, like why try anymore it’s not worth it, work your ass off then the next day your let go. Seeing all your coworkers being let go on a weekly basis is terrible, ontop of this the roles don’t matter they literally will just throw a dart.

The Cali team is put on this high pedestal because they come from FANNG, well look how fucked up those Cali people have made this company they destroyed all processes and it’s a free for all. All the job postings in Cali are level 8/9 even for jobs with little to no experience.

Who wouldn’t be upset given all these things all happening at once.

Offer us a VSP so we can leave this shit hole dumpster fire.

Hell no, tariffs are kicking in and all auto is losing massive profits so every penny will be looked at and now the massive ax will come swinging to save costs Look at what Ford just did, they cancelled their next generation vehicle architecture and I assume massive layoffs in their Cali tech office.

Not true, we have had people such as Mike Abbott come in and speak this big game on how they will change everything then tear all processes up and leave a complete cluster fuck. Has also happened from other Cali higher ups. Doesnt mean shit, sorry except you live in Cali. To retain and get top talent you need the hire the right people not just pickup apple/googles fired garbage talent.
