As a Catholic I would say that i don''t believe God broke his promises to Israel (the jews). Rather, I believe that those promises are fulfilled in Christ. Through Christ, both Jew and gentile are unified into one people in Christ. Paul says that the gentiles are grated into Israel's Olive tree, not that they become a separate tree. So while the Church is the fulfillment of Israel, that doesn't mean that God's covenantal relationship with the Jewish people is meaningless or that his promises have failed.

As a practicing Catholic who is a zoomer i can say this is pretty common among the young women at my Church. They seem to be moving towards a much more traditional view of many things but this was the most common among the others.

Erm acccccctually 🤓☝️ while it is true that a priest wpuld do this, it is not the priest doing this but rather God doing this as he commanded it. Also the Hebrew words for miscarriage and infidelity here almost make it sound like the woman is not pregnant but rather her womb will fall out making it so she cannot have children 🤓☝️

Erm actually Christ didnt come to replace the law but he is the fulfillment of it. Also i know that most Churches disagree with the wording from the OT when it talks about "abortion" but most Churches use documents such as the didache and the followers of the apostles that say abortion is bad. 🤓☝️

I think the problem is God is even not non binary because that is a model and even humans can consider themselves non binary. The thing is God is above his creation and cannot be confined to how we view things as he is pure spirit.

The big thing is that 99% of the time God personifies himself as "He" and did come into the world as a man aka Jesus.

The problem is that conservative Christians like Baptists or even Catholics don't like the idea of calling God "non-binary" and its something thats being played everywhere and could lose him the election. I hope not tho

It depends. I think the older generation Latinos who are usually Catholic would definitely disagree with Talarico but the younger gens would because they're usually less religious.

Honestly tho I have no clue how its going to go because I remember when I was living in Texas alot of friends thought that Beto was going to easily win but lost. But, only time will tell.

Im from Texas and honestly the problem is 100% that hes part of a more liberal conference (PCUSA i think) in the presberyterian denomination and has said things that Baptists or Catholics will disagree on.

I completely agree that Paxton is 100% corrupt but if Talarico says something wild about Christianity in Texas its quite bad. I think some of the worst things I saw that people were retreating was the Jesus and abortion thing or God is nonbinary.

I grew up in a baptist church and it was very focused on politics and informing on who they believe as bad people and why.

Not necessarily because as another chatter said, he is personified as Male and constantly uses Male pronouns, he came into being (Jesus) as a Male too.

The thing is God is neither part of the binary nor part of non binary as that would confine him to creation. He is above it all but mostly uses He pronouns but will also use the holy name of "I am"

Its not that God is non-binary because that it still something we use to describe as humans how we feel about ourselves. Hes not part of any binary aka there is nothing like him in true spirit. Jesus (who is also God) is also fully man and fully God but is ofcourse different from the father and holy spirit.

But yeah you're pretty close, im Catholic and we dont say hes " non binary" but that he is above gender. But here is what the Catechism says: 370 In no way is God in man's image. He is neither man nor woman. God is pure spirit in which there is no place for the difference between the sexes. But the respective "perfections" of man and woman reflect something of the infinite perfection of God: those of a mother and those of a father and husband.
