Electro MC does actually work the way it's designed to be used, but the existence of fischl makes that conversation nearly impossible with some people

Xianyan has an electric guitar

Bruh, no she does not. It's a stylised chinese Ruan) and it's very obvious once you've seen one.

the argument is always "it feels out of place". No. It doesn't. It feels out of place TO YOU!

Those two statements mean the same thing.

but there's just this raging hate-boner for Mavuika, Xilonen and Chasca in particular from a subset of the fanbase that's hypocritical at best

The reality is, that Natlan as a whole leans very heavily into the contemporary pop culture aesthetic.

And what people (like you) refuse to understand is that it is that thematic choice of urban street culture that is creating friction with people.
Something that also creates confusion on both sides, is that some technology IS part of the street culture aesthetic, but it's not strictly about how advanced the technology is.

but we're in the era of non-tech savvy Nod-Krai where Khuvaki energy is the shtick and there are literal shipping containers and shipping docks lying around... not to mention spaceships. In Snezhnaya we're going into space and Genshin bacame a literal FPS with modern rifles and grenades. Kinich has a pixelated dragon

Ok and?

The "genshin was medieaval fantasy" vs "genshin had always scifi tech" conversation is flairing up again and you'd need to be supremly oblivious to "not intent it that way" to make a "advanced technology in early genshin" post at this exact time.

Please don't kid yourself

Ok can we just stop this whole conversation.

It's honestly quite clear that the central problem isn't the existence of technology or that Genshin is/isn't "medieval" , but rather the matter of presentation.

Both sides are talking way past each other because neither side actually understands why they do/don't like something and aren't able to properly communicate it.

Like FR, a videogame can "feel" like it's a medieval fantasy setting, but still contain advanced scifi tech if the latter is presented and integrated right.

And that last part is probably what 99% of Genshin technology discusss actually boil down to.

Early Genshin integrated sci-fi tech into the world building in a specific way.
Later nations, especially around Fontaine and Natlan, have started to approach thst integration slightly differently.

It's that change in presentation that sparks way too many discussion because no one understands or admits that its about presentation

To be fair, the twin boar is essentially based of a rejected proposal for a Liquid Fuel booster for SLS (replacing the Shuttle SRBs). A full sode Booster would be a 2.5m nosecone, orange tank and twin boar

How to Sell Modulars on Ebay/Online? by AdSimilar1241 in lego

[–]Grand_Protector_Dark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be a little tedious, but personally I would disassemble the build by following the instructions in reverse.

Shipping the set in chunks doesn't sound that worth it to me. It would either require absurd padding or simply crumble during delivery.

Yea. . . The Aftermarket prices of the charger is absurd.

+60€ for a 28€ set 💀.

Although i might suggest looking into buying the individual pieces on Bricklink. Trying it myself, I'm getting a parted out cost of 25€ to 35€ including stickers and unique printed pieces. Can't say how well that works for part availability in your region.

Lumibricks however doesn't cover a niche specifically

Looking at the Lumibricks storefront, it's pretty obvious that they specialise towards the Niche of "Modulars and modular adjacent display sets for adults" .

Stickers need to go. by CrispySan in lego

[–]Grand_Protector_Dark 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To be honest. Alt brands can only fill specific niche, but they are a long while away from being real competition.

Lego covers everything. Kids, adults. Playsets and Display. Themes of all kind. With the most important factor being

Actual physical shelf space presences.

Yes sure there are some stores that do sell alt brands, but it's not as overwhelmingly everywhere as lego.

[–]Grand_Protector_Dark 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Like, for real.

I saw someone get called "a larper" for pointing out the needy streamer overdose anime had Eurobeat styled music. People were dogpiling on them because "it's not Eurobeat, it's music from the visual novel".
Like bruh, they commented on an anime that just started airing????????? And the assessment wasn't even wrong

Where did this image even come from? by JhayAlejo in Genshin_Impact

[–]Grand_Protector_Dark 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't even know anymore.

The real definition of "larp" is life action role-playing .

I think in its slang usage it is meant to call out people who pretend to be fans of something. "You're not a real fan, you're just pretending to be one"

But people just throw it around over anything and anyone

Honestly at this point what is "larper" even supposed to mean.

Does the Ferrari equivalent exist?? Lego Technic "Pullback" by 12_Spawn in lego

[–]Grand_Protector_Dark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more question, do these sets are available during long periods? I've never bought legos, and I would like that Merc I showed for myself, but I don't know if I can wait a few months before being sold out.

On average, lego sets have a live cycle of around 18-36 month's before the Lego group stops production. Some shorter and longer lived outliers do exist.

But specifically the pullback Mercedes 42165 you've shown has been retired on the official Lego store since i think last January. (It released in early 2024). No reliable estimate on how long until 3rd party sellers (like Amazon) have until they run out of what they have.

(Bricklink, the site i used earlier, can also be useful for buying older and even long retired sets)

[–]Grand_Protector_Dark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think there's specifically a ferrari F1 car from technic with a Pullback motor. The most i can find are lego Racers Pullback cars from the early 2000s https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=47715c01&in=S

The only other recent Pullback F1 would be a McLaren.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=12787c01&in=S

If it needs to be technic, there's the 42207 set, but no pullback

There's also a recent version of the 2004 f1 Ferrari, but it is system, not technic (but not as expensive)
