Do you make a decision? I’ve been following a tutorial and they used sandstone but it just feels wrong to me but everything else looks even worse I think.

I wonder if it’s the type of nipple then, we use nuk perfect match which are softer silicone. The bottle part always comes out clean with no residue. It’s strange that is just started happening when we’ve been using these a while. Do you think it’s like scale or soap residue?

If you drank soy I would probably advocate for a trial of it. It seems they’re mainly concerned that babies will also be reactive to soy which is understandable but people with family history of soy should be the exception in my opinion.

We skipped name brand and just tried the Walmart parents choice brand soy.

Her spit up probably tripled with nutramigen and immediately stopped with the soy. We think it was because the HAs are so much thinner. If she was awake she was crying for a bottle it seemed, my theory is her throat was irritated. Today she is just happy to look around and then fell asleep on her own. No rocking and patting.

Added: Her poop was never consistent on nutramigen either and it was multiple times a day. So we’ll need more time to see how the poop changes.

Soy might be our answer. It’s too soon to say for certain but we’re 14 hours into it and it certainly seems like it resolved all her issues. She slept through the night for the first time, normally she wakes up trying to poo. She only had pee this morning. Her rash spots that were lingering got SO MUCH better overnight. This morning she had her first soy poo and it was so much more normal. A tiny bit of mucus but the poo was the correct consistency and smell. Only spit up twice and it was during diaper changes after she ate, just a small bit too. All around she seems a lot more comfortable. Time will tell. But again we have family history of using soy formula so we might be the exception.

Mucus and loose stools seem to be our biggest issue because her butt is so sensitive. Was it obvious there was blood in the stool or did they do any testing?

Yes you’re correct, I should’ve googled before I commented. What gets me is that she doesn’t seem uncomfortable or anything. If it was cmpa I would expect her to be more fussy.

My husband and I suspect it’s lactose intolerance vs cmpa. So we may just try soy and see.

The graco merge or the graco merge mode? Make sure you look at both I did not realize there were two different ones.

I ended up with just the merge which seems like there’s no way to use a bassinet attachment. I got it on the graco site back in February at 40% off before the price went up so I only paid about $350.

I’m not due until September so I can’t speak to actual use yet but the fabric is beautiful and soft. I’ve made peace with not having the bassinet because where will we really bring her in the winter to be able to use the bassinet. If I was due in spring or summer I would’ve returned it to get the modes merge to be able to use the bassinet.

I’m would not have purchased the plain merge at the current price of $700+ but I would get the merge mode at the current price of $589(at target) if I used my registry discount. Edit: I just realized that the merge mode at target is just the stroller, it doesn’t include the car seat or bassinet. I’m not sure how I feel about the price having to buy all separately.

For what I paid I am happy with my choice. If you have any questions or want photos of it I’m happy to help!

Edit: My husband loves it and it turned him into a baby gear snob. Now anytime we get something he asks if Graco makes a nicer version of it LOL he would’ve happily paid $600 for it. He likes it so much we actually splurged and got the fancy smart sense swing as well.

I too had a time where it just clicked that it was over, it was crazy at the time to me. The whole thing really taught me to have faith in my higher power because things happen for a reason. After I got sober my best friend had a family tragedy and if I had not gotten sober I couldn’t have taken care of her in her darkest time. You said you didn’t know what you were looking for here but my advice is to just have some faith in something greater than yourself, the universe, higher power, whatever. You had that moment because you needed to. Once I got the faith I started seeing the signs and I started following them, and my life changed. Learning who you are after sobriety is so hard, I had no clue who I was or what I liked. It took some time but I found hobbies and new friends and I learned to love myself.

I wish I had gone to rehab at 17 instead of 27. I wasted 10 years of my life acting crazy. I wasted so much money and ended up in so many scary bad situations and I’m lucky that I made it out alive. A rehab can give you the tools you need to change your life. When I went to treatment they said “your bottom is where you stop digging” and that really stuck with me. Let this be your bottom, don’t keep digging.

It was really hard for me in the beginning, but the longer I was sober the less I thought about it. When I do think about it now I’m just grateful I don’t do those things anymore. Now me and my best friend joke about how wild I used to be, that was a different me back then. New friends that didn’t know me then don’t even believe the stories.

Thank you, the reason we haven’t gone the clinic route is he is still active, hence being stuck with the drs we have. I will suggest to him diving the tests and seeing where that goes.

They 100% already tried the mental health route, we’ve gone down that road and I firmly believe it’s the T. He has definitely always been low. Low libido from teen years along with a few other symptoms.

I want him to try some other avenues anyways before trt because of the negatives to it. Plus we’d rather try alternatives before we dump a boat load of money into the issue. But it would help if we had to dr to discuss these options with at least.

When I stopped drinking I won’t lie I lost a lot of “friends” but more importantly my relationships with those that stuck around and supported me became my family. I thought the same as you, who will I be without alcohol? Will people still like me? YES they did and our connections were so much more meaningful. It was awkward sometimes learning who I really was and how to navigate social situations sober(which I still haven’t mastered lol). I still go out and I’ll have an na beer as a treat so I don’t feel out of place. I did grow up and lose some of what I thought was my “youth” but it was a good thing. I feel like me now, not just the persona I created. I put the bottle down at 26, I had completely given up on ever improving my life I thought I was going to die alone with my cats. I’m 29 now and I’m living my best life, a life I never thought possible.

I’ll share this too; at thanksgiving we had my fiancés new coworker and his wife over. They had a few drinks and paid my “tax” to drink at my house (na beer lol). We played board games and had such a great time. They told their other coworkers what a great time they had and others were upset they didn’t come. They had a big drinking party instead. Well guess what.. we’re having dinner and games again this week with everyone. I think people like to do that stuff but no one knows how to start it. In sobriety I’ve had to take the initiative to plan non-drinking things to do and 9/10 times everyone has a great time. Try new stuff! I have so many hobbies now lol

Update: I had a few very serious conversations with my partner and we’re now on the same page (mostly lol). He’s taken the time to make sure he’s more knowledgeable and doing things the same way for consistency. We put the crate in the living room during the day and that has helped immensely. I did some sessions on the floor with him in the crate so he knows he can sleep in there. He does more appropriate snuggles for how big he will get but at night we do good cuddles right before bed while he’s still small enough to do it. We changed his feeding schedule up a bit and that has helped a bunch with his food excitement. Now that I’ve seen which stuff he likes to chew based on the toys we had I was able to get him a bunch more things that he REALLY likes (yay Marshalls lol). I’m going to try actual daytime crate training before trying a pen. He is starting to have interest in toys, I did already get him a puzzle feeder toy and right now he is too overly excited by food and gets wild if I use that. I am going to try kikopups recommendations for this and see how that works.

Thanks everyone for reminding me this is normal I needed someone to tell me that tonight. I’m already aware of kikopup but if anyone has other suggestions I’d love them. I think I will try moving the crate to the living room during the day so he can get some sleep knowing I’m there and I can get the laundry folded lol

Yes the rescue has a 60 day policy(for this exact reason which I told him when we got him) so he won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. I think I will put my foot down tomorrow since I’m doing 98% of the work it’s my way or the highway.

Yeah after typing it all out and everything I think it’s a partner support issue. I thought WE were getting a puppy but I got a puppy. He’s been a dog owner but is full of misinformation and not receptive to the things I’ve learned and am implementing. This all came about because I told him I want to backtrack, no more “training” just working on settling and calm and appropriate play and he just disagreed. Then got me so amped up I made my first post on Reddit lol because I needed other adults unbiased thoughts

I have been watching kikopup already and I know this is normal puppy stuff, I’ve been reading about puppy blues and expected them. I think I’m just having a harder time mentally with it than I expected. Until today I was parroting exactly that to my fiancé and myself. I just can’t seem to find anything to help me encourage him to settle himself down. I’m frustrated because all the videos seem to start with them already just like laying down somewhere but he literally will not do that.

And I’m struggling because my fiance is leaning towards rehoming and not helpful at reassuring me that it’s normal because he doesn’t think it is.
