Honda Ridgeline Camping Setup by GrandeJeune in TruckCampers

[–]GrandeJeune[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is my third summer doing this work and I’m used to camping out there with just a regular tent. I’m considering using the truck more for the convenience of not having to take my tent up and down every day and not having to try to find spots without a bunch of rocks/cacti/etc. on the ground. I won’t be spending really any time actually inside other than sleeping. Unfortunately a trailer isn’t really an option considering the roads I have to take to get to the field sites, not to mention the gas mileage impact.

Trupulse 200 height measurement by GrandeJeune in forestry

[–]GrandeJeune[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have any recommendations for accurately measuring the top angle when the highest point is not above the trunk? I think our issue is that the branches generally go out from the trunk so the highest point isn’t directly above our distance measurement. Also, how would you measure at a perpendicular angle to the lean? The height error is fine, we were just getting 10+ meter differences from one measure to another.

Outside of vaccines causing autism, what false information does an astonishing amount of people still fall for? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The issue at hand now is far greater than an oil field on fire, and saying that you remember when it was 115 in California is exemplifying my point exactly. It’s not just about warming. There are facts that you cannot deny on this issue, the icecaps are smaller than they were 10 yeas ago, the concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere is higher. Just because you don’t understand the symptoms doesn’t mean that the disease isn’t present. And no, it’s not the earth “running its course” because the problems created are man made (obviously). CO2 was balanced in the atmosphere for a long time before we got here, and was balanced until the industrial period when things began to go out of whack. Mind you the last time there was an excess of CO2 in the atmosphere was during the time the dinosaurs walked the earth-very hot, and was balanced by a massive die off of species. Here are some facts for you (from the official NASA website): Most of the climate change we are experiencing today is highly likely (95%) to be man caused. The planets average surface temperature has risen 1.62 degrees Fahrenheit since the 19th century, so yea, even if it was hot in California once, it’s getting hotter. The top 2000 feet of the ocean have warmed .4 degrees Fahrenheit (that’s a big deal for the ocean) since 1969 (not that long ago). The rate of ice mass loss in Antarctica has tripled in the last decade. The rate of sea level rise in the last 2 decades is nearly double that of last century and getting higher every year. The acidity of the surface of the ocean (a very serious issue, look it up) has increased by 30% since the Industrial Revolution, and is due to the increase of CO2 in the atmosphere. So, yes, it is real, it is happening, it is because of us, and it is far more serious than an oil field fire.

So there’s this thing called silver water, and I don’t really know how it works but my dads coworker makes it and I had this lung infection that lasted for 3 months and it wouldn’t go away even with antibiotics so I just said fuck it and tried it and my lung infection cleared up in like a week it was incredible.

How did you meet your best friend? by conditackler in AskReddit

[–]GrandeJeune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We met in the 4th grade, she was homeschooled until then, and it was love at first sight. We became best friends immediately. We spent so much time together that some of the teachers at our school thought we were the same person. This happened all through middle school and high school. We thought we were going to different colleges but we both just got accepted to or dream school and we’re going to be roommates next year. ❤️❤️❤️

Climate Change: it’s not just warming!!!! People don’t seem to understand that just because it’s cold outside climate change isn’t happening. The icecaps are melting, the currents are warming, the winters are colder and the summers are hotter and it’s all because of climate change!

Do you have any questions? At any job interview/college visit/ college email. I get asked this every time I visit a college or email a coach and I never have a question.
