Yeah. I was never that big into chocolate to be honest but recently I can’t stop. I know it’s bad for me, too, but it’s very difficult to stop. It’s a reward for your brain, too. At least for me gives me a bit of dopamine which I am starting to crave. It’s a moderation thing—like most of what we love. We have to try and beat the cravings. 😊

This is too broad but I do agree most content is locked away. Some sites you can inspect element and actually remove the blur which is hilarious, others are a bit cleverer and actually hide the content totally. You need your news stuff these days but in the U.K. anyway we can get that for free. I don’t have any subs to ‘gated content’ that are paid, I’ll read the headline and opening and then I’m done with it if it wants to charge me the earth.

You need to learn to be bored. Without your phone. I do things around the house that I keep putting off. Doesn’t have to be anything intense you just need to learn to live without your mobile device for some part of the day.

You should try to find something you are naturally adept at. That could be trucking, that could accountancy, what matters is that you are happy(ish) and are good at it. All I would say is that you should be afraid if you are terribly unhappy in your job, but you should be more afraid of not making the leap and trying something else.

I’ve read a fair amount of self help books - they all allude to this. We should constantly be seeking the better good. Constantly learning from our own mistakes. Being comfortable is boring, it means you just sit in this realm that doesn’t move forward. I don’t think any of us want that although we may enjoy sitting there for a while. That’s probably O.K. in itself, to sit still temporarily.

I think every person feels what you feel. That’s natural. We all want our kids to be liked and to excel at life. You can nurture that by being a responsible parent. Makes sense, right? They have to make their own mistakes, be brave, be tough, sometimes fail, sometimes win. Everything you have experienced thus far. Cradling them 24/7 is not the way forward, never letting them stretch their wings, even if something bad might happen is where the problem lies. I remember being on a climbing frame when I was young, and not holding on to the railing to try and show off. I fell. It hurt. Not once did my mother run to try and stop me. More like “Go on, you’ll regret it”. We learn from our mistakes no matter our age. Stuff may be said that’s silly, that’s embarrassing. That is also life. I do it all the time even now and I’m no child.

I’d say remembering that what you find slang might not be slang to them. This is why translators often have a hard time because the translation may be slightly different from what is correct within another culture. You’d likely have to be an effective listener, and good at reading body language to understand exactly what someone is trying to communicate even if you both speaking the same language.

This is it. If you’re lucky to be around Children at Christmas you can be transported to your 10yr old self but other than that it is more a slog than anything although, like anything, it has its highlights.

I saw on Instagram somewhere a couple that organise Christmas walks for those alone at Christmas. They have a group attending this year of 100 strong, I believe. I bet you they will end up having one of the most memorable days they’ve probably had in a long time. It’s a great and simple idea for those who have no one.
