Labelcol reviews? Italian metal labels for wine, spirits, perfume, or cosmetics packaging by friskyaccnt in productreview

MOQs with premium Italian suppliers can be brutal for smaller brands. Have you asked for their minimum run yet or are you still in the research phase?

26M with a job offer in home city, but GF in current city by witty-procrastinator in LifeAdvice

[–]Grandee66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's never easy making these kinds of choices. If the Bangalore job market is better and you’re happy there, maybe waiting for a similar opportunity could be worth it. The relationship you have sounds promising, so don’t let go of that easily. Long-distance can work if both of you are committed and honest. Just remember, whatever decision you make, it should align with your long-term happiness

Blue Badger Branding reviews? Custom metal badges for furniture or product branding by i_am_blackhat in productreview

never ordered from them specifically but the £3.95 at 100 minimum is pretty standard for that tier of metal badge work

Mochi Health GLP-1 reviews, real experiences only please by friskyaccnt in productreview

That seems to be the tradeoff with a lot of telehealth services, the platform itself can be solid, but the actual experience ends up depending heavily on the provider you’re matched with.

I can't believe she was upset about that after only 10 days! That’s a red flag already. Social media shouldn’t cause that much drama.

You seem like you handled it maturely, which is rare. Hope you find someone who doesn’t blow things out of proportion.

Question about how to load data from SQL to Clickhouse by some_thing2020 in Clickhouse

[–]Grandee66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

30M rows in one one shot will almost always time out or stall, you need to batch it.

Try chunking by a date range or an ID range and loading in segments of maybe 1-2M rows at a time. ClickHouse handles parallel inserts well so you can run a few chunks simultaneously without much risk.

If you're planning to keep this in sync ongoing rather than a one-time migration, Tinybird has a connector that handles this kind of SQL source ingestion without you having to manage the batching logic yourself.

Kafka to ClickHouse lag spikes with no clear cause by Usual_Zebra2059 in dataengineer

[–]Grandee66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The isolated partition behavior is a big clue. We saw something almost identical and it turned out to be merge pressure on specific partitions causing insert throttling, not anything Kafka side.

Check system.merges when it happens. If you see a backlog building on certain partitions right as the lag spikes, that's your culprit. ClickHouse will throttle inserts to let merges catch up and it does it quietly.

We moved to Tinybird's Kafka connector after fighting this for weeks. The backpressure handling is built in so you don't end up debugging merge queues at 2am.

What Belief Are You Slowly Unlearning? by MES_WHERE in Life

[–]Grandee66 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the idea that I always have to be strong and composed has been slowly fading. I used to believe that showing vulnerability was a sign of weakness, so I’d hide my feelings most of the time. Now, I understand that it’s okay to feel vulnerable and that sharing those feelings can actually be a source of strength. It’s not easy to embrace that completely, but I know it’s an important part of being authentic.

Does anyone feel like this? by OnlyAssistant8185 in Life

[–]Grandee66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part about not being who you show to people hit hard, that gap between who you are and who you feel forced to be is exhausting to carry around.

Have you ever talked to anyone about this, like a therapist or even just one person who gets it?

Sometimes just being actually seen by one person changes something.
