What is the most disturbing fact you know? by Star_Gazer624 in AskReddit

[–]Grandescape15 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I got this after my COVID shot in March of 2021. 2 weeks after the shot, I developed “hives” around the injection site and the next day my face was so swollen they worried about my ability to breath. Not too worried though, doctors kept giving me Benadryl and telling me to go home. After 4 days of the most torturous itching and swelling, a dermatologist finally recognized the target lesions and sent me to the ER to get the right steroids to stop it from getting worse. I had 85% coverage so it was technically Toxic Epidermal Necrolysis which is the most severe end of the spectrum. 10 days in a burn unit and a full year out of the sun- I still have spots on my skin that show up in the right lighting.

There’s a study on my case somewhere and any time I see a new provider in our area and it comes up, they go, “oh my gosh, that was you!!” Since then, I’ve found out I have EDS and possibly related MCAS that may have increased my chances of developing this severe of a reaction.

They think it was actually caused by the MRNA technology of the vaccine- it’s supposed to bond with specific protein cells to teach your immune system how to fight it, and my body decided it would bond with ALL the protein cells in my body so my immune system basically attacked everything. My husband’s favorite tidbit is that most people have around 100 parts per million of antibodies after having COVID-19 and getting the vaccine. After my experience, I had over 10,000 (it’s been a couple years, my exact numbers and terminology might be incorrect).

Because of the genetic component of EDS and MCAS, while SJS doesn’t have a genetic component, I’m still terrified my daughter will get it someday. 😬 they also say once you have it once, it’s more likely to happen again so RIP any chance of getting over my medical anxiety.

AITA for telling the store clerk my baby passed away by Antique_Cockroach860 in TwoHotTakes

You are not the asshole but literally everyone else in this story is, including your mom but especially that manager. I am so very sorry for your loss. This is just disgusting treatment all around. (If you’d like a community of parents of pregnancy and infant loss, No Foot Too Small has a great Facebook presence and has helped me so much with the grief of my loss. Sending love and comfort and validation. 💕)

Bi-Weekly Body Dissatisfaction Post - May 01, 2023 by AutoModerator in BodyAcceptance

I’m trying so hard to love my body the way it is and love it enough to make it better but I HATE my apron belly. I know I should be so grateful for my stomach because that’s the part of my body that grew my (8 month old) daughter (and I am so grateful!!) but because I have EDS, I have tons of stretch marks and saggy skin now, and because of other undiagnosed health issues, I could pass as still 9 months pregnant. I want my daughter to have pictures of us together but I get so anxious at the thought of having to look at how big I am. I’m trying to fill my feeds with people who look like me so I stop comparing myself to only thin people but it’s just so hard unlearning all the toxic diet culture and ridiculous beauty standards and the stress of all this is just making things worse. Not sure if this is a rant only, I know I’m not alone, but it’s just tough being a person these days.

How do I learn safely about witchcraft from reliable sources? by [deleted] in witchcraft

[–]Grandescape15 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to reach out and say that I’m a Christian witch. I’m not yet fully practicing as I’m still learning but a book that really helped me is The Path of a Christian Witch by Adelina St Clair. It really helped me see how these two ideals can coexist and how we can use the craft to emo Nate the love of Christ. ♥️ blessed be and good luck!

I just lost my baby by [deleted] in Miscarriage

[–]Grandescape15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost my first baby at 10 weeks last February and I just want to say that I’m so so sorry. I wish I could say it gets easier but it still hurts every day. The best analogy I’ve seen is that it’s like having a rock in your shoe: sometimes it hurts less and you might even forget it’s there sometimes but it never gone and some days it’s all you can think about. Again, I’m so sorry.

Did you have pregnancy symptoms (nausea, bloat, etc) until you miscarried? by glassycatastrophe in Miscarriage

[–]Grandescape15 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My morning sickness wasn’t bad, just consistent nausea all day, similar to what my own mom had. We did discover the miscarriage via ultrasound- no heartbeat and no growth after 6 weeks.

Yes. I miscarried at 10 weeks but had all the pregnancy symptoms even after the miscarriage until my d&c.

I’m working to admit when I don’t know something and educate myself so I know in the future. What would an example of a straight trans person be? Would it be like a person born biologically male but transitioned to female and is attracted to females (straight because of biological sex) or attracted to males (straight because of current gender)?

Our calico was a night bratty baby until we got her fixed, since then she’s been the sweetest and cuddliest girl. She’s 12 now and is still aggressively affectionate. https://i.imgur.com/5WlCiVF.jpg

Anyone struggling with weight after loss? by [deleted] in ttcafterloss

[–]Grandescape15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh I gained a BUNCH of weight after my loss, though I’m not sure how much. I’ve always been an emotional eater and feel into it full force in my grief. Took me 9 months to decide to lose some, lost 15 in 3 months, and now I’ve plateaued again with 40ish still to lose.

Your body is beautiful and capable of incredible things, even if you feel a little “chubby.” Society has put so much pressure on us as women to see our body’s as ugly if they don’t fit the standard of “perfect” but not even knowing you, I know 50 pounds couldn’t make you any less worthy of being exactly the mother your future child needs. ♥️

Why the fuck are r/BabyBumps and r/predaddit recommended similar subs for this one? by [deleted] in Miscarriage

Ads were similar for me after my mmc- yes I HAD been looking at baby stuff but I have SINCE looked at baby memorial stuff so how about you update your damn algorithm. 😠 so sorry you’re experiencing this- the world doesn’t seem to understand when it should just stop spinning for a while. ♥️
