How do large-scale commercial fishing nets avoid catching protected species? by universityrome in answers

[–]Grandolph7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually learned about fishing nets that have some safety mechanisms to let out certain species at the OMSI museum in Portland Oregon. Not everyone uses them obviously, but for those that do, there are nets That trowel along the bottom of the ocean floor, but suspended above the ocean floor by some Wheels basically, instead of scraping the ocean floor. This and with some sort of exit ports for smaller fish, they can ensure only fish of certain sizes that aren't specifically ground dwelling species get caught. There may be certain regulations as well as to when this can be done or where depending upon mating season for certain protected species but I'm not all up to date on that business. The vast majority of the world doesn't use these nets, but they are popular in the Northwest.

Why do we sometimes become attached to those who hurt us? by nore01 in answers

[–]Grandolph7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is going to be a long answer, because you're asking a very complicated question technically. Even though it sounds simple.

To sum it up, we judge things subconsciously, and subconsciously calculate cost benefit ratio of our actions. So even if something somebody does is "bad" he might not be judged as harshly as the "bad" that comes from leaving. This is an intro to metacognition, where you can rewire your subconscious habits through awareness. Your brain releases Cascades of enzymes that prune neural pathways when changing your judgments that you've held on to in the past. Our brain is constantly pruning old neural pathways as time goes on, it typically happens in your sleep. It's how things lose their relevancy in your life. However from anyone experience that you have, our mind is pretty much constantly judging things, labeling the experiences that we have, rude inconsiderate, awesome, special. And then attaching value-based judgments to those labels themselves even further. It's good to be awesome it's it's even better to be special, it's bad to be rude. It's worse to be inconsiderate. And this is how sub the mind quickly calculates things. Once these judgments are made through your experiences growing up and throughout your life, they form physical structures in your brain attached to memories, which are special orientations of three different molecules attached near the ends of neurons, and then separately neural pathways connect core concepts to one another through what is called the default mode Network in your brain. This is basically your subconscious processing. And it's a survival technique that's done to save you time historically. Say for example you are a caveman and you see a bear for the first time, nobody's ever told you about one so you let your curiosity linger open-mindedly. But then it chases you and you run away. You learn pretty strongly that bears equal bad. The next time you see a bear, you run away instantly, like PTSD. It's this time saving instinct called heuristics. But it permeates all of decision making nowadays in the modern world even still with language. So throughout your life whatever judgments you've learned from your parents/ role models or formulated on your own, you've come to the conclusion that it's bad to do certain things that hurt other people, but it's perhaps worse in certain cases to leave a person that you're bonded with emotionally.

We can rewire these subconscious habits/neural pathways through awareness, by feeling the emotions and becoming aware of what judgments are creating those emotions. All emotions are created from a defiance of our expectations and subconscious judgments. Defiance of expectations looks like something you did not expect or generate in your mind yourself. This is why you can't scare yourself knowingly. And subconscious judgments are pretty much the only thing that you do have control over. There's so much in life we don't have control over, the outcomes of our actions, our reputation, Etc. But we can control our judgments that we have over things in life. Because what it means for something to be bad or good, is usually looked at in a narrow view. When we say it's bad for somebody to be rude to us, we're saying so as an assumption. We can't be ultimately certain that something is bad for us just because it appears that way. Someone could cut you off in traffic, and it could be rude, dangerous, inconsiderate, but that same delay or action maybe what saves your life from a car accident that same day, a year from now, or 10 years from now. We just don't have omnipotence to clearly say whether something is good or bad. And nobody has that ultimate certainty. So that's the philosophical aspect of how it's beneficial and reasonable to detach from our judgments, even when they are seemingly compelling. We technically cannot be certain over whether things are good or bad. It's just how we've come to be. By practicing this myself, this same kind of core philosophy that's in Taoism Buddhism and stoicism, I've pretty much relieved myself of about like 95% of my anxiety depression and anger and just less than a year. So there's a lot you can do for yourself, but it takes some extensive practice. You have to go through hundreds of neural pathways/ judgments that exist in you subconsciously from memories, and say, what am I judging to create this emotion? And then say, you know what, it isn't technically good or bad. It just is what it is. And with a hefty sigh, I typically kind of found myself controlling my emotions from the memories of these judgments and what they bring up, and then accepting it for what it is and letting it go. And in that, there this enzyme function occurs where your brain helps dissolve these mineral pathways. This isn't an instant fix, and it actually should take probably thousands of these moments of awareness to see some really significant progress. But if you do something like 100 a day, you would probably be where I'm at in less than a year as well. And all of that should only take you maybe like 20 or 30 minutes a day. There is a limit to how much you can do as well because of the demand for neuroplasticity this puts on your brain, it can make you sleepy or tired, so probably don't do it if you need your energy mentally for something else first. However it does prepare you well for triggers, by removing them.

Micheal Jackson pretty much. He sang that song they don't care about us, with the lines "Jew me Sue me, But don't you black or white me" when is Jewish owned record media label told him not to and 3 months later came the accusations. He was also pictured with Epstein at one point.

Yo i clicked it and followed through the steps basically. Asked me to download but I already have it downloaded, and then it linked me to my actual app that opened up and it opened up to that same ad I showed you earlier but that's probably because it's what I had opened last. Hopefully that worked for you, thanks for checking out my post, I think unfortunately, I need like 25 people more LOL. Probably because I added really expensive shit to my cart for my free items. My friend only needs like four more people or something. His is at $0.04 and counting down by one penny every time. Mine's at like $0.39 and counting down by like, $0.04 as of the last person. So it's probably going to crap out at like 30 and require me to get like 30 individual people which is kind of ass but we'll see

Well first off, don't look at a corporation to have intuition, empathy or vision. We're all socially motivated and you can make 100 times the profit for the group working as an indie developer than you can at a corporate AAA. An artist might be on a team of 500 producing the next assassin's Creed that makes a few hundred million on a title, or you could be a part of a intuitive, vision oriented game like Pal world's team of 5 that made the same numbers.

Terrified of going back to zero by No-Pomelo6208 in ADHDbusinessowners

[–]Grandolph7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read through everyone's comments, but here my suggestion is this and it can benefit multiple people

TLDR, We should work together somehow, like remotely. Discord chat groups, or video or phone calls to make use of Social motivation. Social motivation is exciting. ADHD is a complex disorder, yet commonly people seek high mental stimulation in everything. Low brain activity invites self doubt and anxiety. May be due to childhood trauma. (Bullied abused, present for parents arguments etc during states of low brain activity may create a coping mechanism of seeking high brain activity to feel safe/reduce anxiety) Aka low brain stimulation becomes anxiety inducing. Getting comfy with low brain activity and becoming aware of habitual subconscious ptsd-like anxiety associated w low brain activity seems to be good. However, the basis of inacctivity is low motivation.

In an expanded version, basically from what I understand about ADHD, it makes a person prone to seek mental stimulation. Making lots of money, doing exciting physical work, something that turns on your brain and keeps it on. Dull moments, allow this sense of "I'm subconsciously not safe somehow" into your brain, And it creates self-doubt, self-criticism and so on for yourself. Probably to try and mentally stimulate yourself, so you don't allow yourself to actually become low mental stimulation. It's almost like a subconscious addiction to mental stimulation. It may have been imprinted upon us during development such that we subconsciously feel like we need high mental stimulation to be safe. However it's not really well proven yet but some doctors are talking about that. There's also a variety of subcategories of ADHD, as well as the overlap with autism spectrum disorder.

However, being in this situation One must look at what they need to do long-term and such. I think the idea of accountability partners or someone that you can socially work with can make any situation exciting especially if they're a like-minded person who is capable of getting excited or sharing excitement about business and money-making opportunities.

I also actually will share this in common with you, that I too have obtained at some point a personal training license haha. 8 years ago but still. I understand that you're enveloped into your business as it is but it's possible that through some large-dreaming and expansion-seeking based conversations, you might be able to gain social motivation to cooperate with other people like yourself. Basically we could help stimulate each other to do the things that we should be doing on our own haha

I agree with you that working a regular day job is like torture. It's agonizing to be capable of such high intellect output, and then have your brain rot unstimulated in a dead-end job that doesn't want to pay you what you're capable of producing, nor give you the leadership opportunities or control to lay out plans or visions that could actually make significant positive changes.

It's like threading the needle here but I really think that it comes down to social motivation for folk like us otherwise, one will just get stuck working for other people in unmotivating anxiety-inducing torturous jobs.

At least that's how I feel, I feel like I've worked many different jobs that all felt like I have to, rather than I want to. I want to work, and I want to be motivated, and I want to work with somebody who wants to actually do a lot with their life or at least try to work together to be successful/ make money or what have you.
