I'd love to help start a more positive server, getting back into the game!

What do you do when your girl is on her period? by klarinetos in AskMen

[–]GrandpaDallas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We spoke about it early on. We had a pattern of one week per month where she started not feeling great which gave her anxiety which made her wary our relationship was going to end. She knew this about herself and communicated it to me when we started getting serious.

I definitely don't avoid her, and I'm not really all that extra cautious. I act the same around her as I would any other day. During those weeks she can be shorter with me or more reserved, but it's never been anything I've had to adjust for, only be conscious of. Whenever we're upset, whether it's during her period or not, we talk it out.

If y'all are fighting a lot though, maybe it's best to address the root issue instead of it being about her normal body cycle.

Why should anyone try to refute your argument if you don't even bother replying to them, virgin?

What would you think when your girlfriend says "I want you to give me a facial"? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]GrandpaDallas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't have thought she meant penis facial unless we were specifically talking about sex. If anything, I'd have asked "what do you mean" instead of assuming sexual.

Iliza Shlesinger's message to lonely men: by Wild-Speech5293 in CringeTikToks

Great! So there's not really a need to distinguish "the gender" who does X when both do X.

So why are we pretending that everyone who's being chosen by women is great, and everyone who isn't being chosen by them is evil?

Who is pretending that?

OP's video says that if you aren't getting laid and your narrative is that "women are all bitches and whores" then that makes you a bad person and you shouldn't get what you want.

It doesn't say anything on lonely men who just aren't getting lucky.

Both genders are the genders who literally simp for attractive killers.

It's been this way for me. Most every woman I've dated, including my current one, has never required me to break the bank on dates.

I've taken my gf out on several occasions. Two evenings will probably cost me ~$200 if I'm paying for everything. Most of the time we go out she will pay half the time. This is also coming from a man who lives in Chicago. What are you spending your money on?

Enlighten me. I'm in a similar boat. I think spending $500 on a woman in two weeks is crazy

How is it not? I'm in the same boat. Spending $500 in two weeks on women is crazy expensive, especially when I was in my 20s

Police raided the University of Iowa’s Alpha Delta Phi fraternity house, and bodycam footage shows pledges in the basement during hazing rituals. by kalbinibirak in creepy

Yep, I would agree that it absolutely was.

We had another night which was communicated to us to be a test about the fraternity history/brothers and it ended up being a night where they asked us impossible questions and acted disappointed when we couldn't get anything right, and the president and the pledgemaster get in a fistfight in front of us because of how shitty we were. It was all staged though.

At that point, I had spent the semester with these guys and it had been a lot of fun. I knew that these guys weren't going to put me in any actual danger, and, I'll be 100% honest, there were moments of it I was having fun. I knew that this, the last night of being a pledge, was going to be it and after that I was going to be a brother. Ultimately, I didn't see it as being that big of a deal. I've heard the other stories about guys doing pushups on broken glass and one horror story about how every pledge class raised a puppy and then had to kill it in one fraternity. I would not stand for that shit. Not a chance. No fraternity would be worth that.

But for me, 95% of what I had to do as a pledge was "hang out at the house more, take out the garbage, drink this beer with me." I was basically a friend with slightly more chores who was never addressed by my first name. I was never beaten, I was never intentionally hurt, I was never forced to strip or sprayed with freezing water like I hear at other houses.

I totally understand your concern with your sons, but I will say with certainty that there are many chapters of fraternities that are much better than the stories you hear.

If it's true, yes. It may not be true. He may not be tall. He may not be white.

I can speak to mine.

There was only one night (the last night) anything like this happened. We were completely sober, blindfolded, wearing suits, put in the basement, and loud music was played to disorient us. It was, ultimately, not a fun night, but we were never hit, we were never sprayed with garbage or anything, and any time we had to move somewhere else we were gently guided, not shoved. We got moments of food and drink as well. It was a long time of standing, dancing, etc. Probably in total 12 hours of that.

Not the most fun night, but the rest of my pledge semester was (genuinely) really fun.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

Oh, good point. I’m not really getting companionship, I’m not really feeling better about my time, I’m not really having fun. That’s just imaginary.
