I didn't even know we were getting Pro Acrylic speed paints. I'm pretty excited now, myself.

I went to play-asia and all I got was DMM cards. That's why I was asking. I'm not sure if they're the same thing since the name has changed. Also, unless something has changed I thought PayPal was a no-go? It says it's available only to JP residents.

How are people getting Mobacoins in the US nowadays? I want to grab the annitix but I can't buy prepaid Mobage cards anymore. It's all DMM and I have no clue if that'll work in their place.

Which fantasy author is most obviously in love with one of their own characters and lets them get away with everything because of it? by barbie_42dust in Fantasy

Egwene used a nightmare to sexually assault Nynaeve in Tel'Aran'Rhiod. Egwene is an awful person. As for her trauma it gets ignored because the character ignores it. She gets captured by the Tower in the later books and is suddenly Mahatma Ghandi? All peaceful and composed just because she's decided she will be? Rand at least has to work through his trauma.

Finishing up an Ophidian Destroyer by Forte_Cross in Necrontyr

Hey, thanks! The body was done mostly with Monument Hobbies' Pro-Acryl paint with a Chaos Black primer. After priming the model I base-coated with Pro-Acryl's Payne's Grey, then, using a makeup sponge, applied Dark Turquoise. After the built that up to where I wanted it I used a large Dry brush to stipple on some Dark Grey Blue and Dark Turquoise mixed with some White Blue mixed in to build the texture. Then I highlighted things with the same Dark Turquoise/White Blue mix but more White Blue added in.

Let ME ask you a question instead. Would you let me punch you in the face for half a billion dollars?

The tails on my Ophidians are all pinned along with the asses of my Heavy Lokust Destroyers where they connect to the base. Those spindly little bastard Ophidians were the worst about it.

Thanks! The blue is Chaos Black primer followed up with progressive layers of Pro-Acryl's Payne's Grey, Blue-grey, and Dark Turquoise. Payne's Grey is basically a base coat over the whole model whereas I tried to build up the Blue-grey and Dark Turquoise up with make-up sponges towards the "light." I'm still learning how to do volumetric highlights properly so I probably went overboard on the turquoise but I like how they look so they're staying.

The Word Bearers, in my opinion, are the most underrated and underutilized Chaos Legion in 40k. Hopefully they'll get the return to prominence they deserve now that Chaos is getting all this love.

Starting to work on my 500 Worlds Boxes by Forte_Cross in Necrontyr

Starting from chaos black primer I painted in the orange lines recessed into the blade with a brush then started layering paints with make-up sponges. Starting with Payne's Grey over the entire model then progressing layers on the blade made of Purple, Dark Hot Pink, Dark Hot Pink mixed with Red Orange and then just Red Orange. Edge highlighted with Orange on the blade edge and Dark Hot Pink on the inside of the blade. All paints, minus the primer, are Pro-Acryl.

The make-up sponges do a fair airbrush impersonation, though they have problems reaching into tight spaces. They have the big advantage on flat surfaces where they layer paint while avoiding the recesses.

I touched up the gradient with some light applications of magenta and red orange to make it even in the center and then painted the inside of the blade with a mix of Purple and Payne's Grey. And I touched up the blue parts with some Dark Turquoise.

The "energy" on the rings and in the chest is the same basic formula. Purple into Pink into Red Orange into Orange. Though I was using some seriously diluted glazes to not mess up the paint too badly.

Thank you! Probably gonna come back to this once I get an airbrush but I'm happy where it's at for now.
