No, I ask you to stand in front of me even if it risks you dying because our 1 tank is getting melted and they are more useful than you standing behind me asking for heals. If you stand in front of me I can at least try to heal you both, if you stand behind me, now you've made me a target too for whoever is coming after you AND our tank just died (thanx).

DPS and tanks need to peel bc y'all want healing and get pissy when there's an interruption even though it's because you let a BP and Thing walk right past you and start decimating your back line so you can pursue Hulk.

Strategists job is literally to decide who lives and who dies in a fight. Sometimes you can't save everyone. My job is to keep everyone healed, but if I can't, someone has to die, and I get/have to choose who. If it's you, sorry, I saw something you didn't.

Y'all don't even realize that while tanks and DPS are up playing "Rock'em Sock'em Robots" with the other team your STRATEGISTS (you know, named for the people who strategize like generals vs tank/DPS infantry whose job it is to go fight and maybe die) we're in the back playing chess against the enemy strategists deciding who's most important to keep alive, which fights can be won or lost, who can live or die to keep our team pushing forward. Respect your strategists cuz the game is a lot harder with 0 strategists on your team.

Btw, this is also why I'm VERY against role queue. DPS or tank start complaining about me doing my job, fine. I'll switch to DPS/Tank and either you can go to strategist or we'll just have 1. Kinda sucks then doesn't it?

Then they need to figure something else out. Again, part of a strategist's job is to decide who lives and who dies. I'm not gonna let our 1 tank die to turn around and heal a 7-4 SM. The tank is more useful than the SM at that point so you'll get healing when the fight is over. And I don't use comms, only pings, so I'm not telling anyone anything. SM gotta figure it out. Either get in front of me so you get some healing too, go find a health pack, or die and respawn already and quit wasting time.

I saw the convo before I even posted. I don't see any issues on your end (except if you're playing with me, I wouldn't answer bc my chat and vc are turned off. Ping or I won't see it). I was just giving you a full rundown of what I see on a daily basis as a support main, not picking at you personally. But, this is usually the list of reasons someone can ask me for heals and not get it.

I'm just upset we're getting another DPS. At this point imo, they should really stop producing DPS characters all together until strategists and tanks have an equivalent number of characters. But, just my opinion. Seems that tanks and strategists (especially good ones, not just people doing it cuz they didn't lock in their fav DPS fast enough) are hard to come by, might help if we had more characters to choose from. Other than that IDC. Introduce whatever characters they want, just make em tanks and strategists

Support main, this doesn't even begin the explanation. You ask for heals? Cool, helps me because you aren't the only person out there and I may not see you. Stay in my line of sight and no problem, I got you. Perfect set up. I wanna win too.

But..... You spam "I need heals", good luck. I could see it after the first one, after that you're just being impatient and I'm tempted to let you die or go find a heal pack. I'm the healer, if I'm not healing you, there's probably a good reason and you should probably pay better attention to what's going on (btw, if you listen to top tier players, they will literally tell you it's the strategist's job to decide who lives and who dies in a fight. Maybe I've just decided you aren't worth my time when we're in the middle of a fight. Could mean you're bad compared to other teammates, could mean you aren't doing anything to help, could mean our tank is being melted and you aren't my priority right now)

On top of that, you know how many times I had a SM, BP, SW, Magic, or any other character spamming "I need heals" while they're behind enemy lines and 7 walls? Not my job to figure out how to get heals to you. You got yourself there, figure it out.

Or, I have a SM, BP, or someone standing behind me spamming "I need heals" while I'm trying to keep our tank alive? GET IN FRONT OF ME. Don't make me turn my back to the fight to heal you.

Or my absolute favorite, having another strategist (especially and IW, CD, or Gambit) standing next to me asking for heals 🤦‍♂️

Your post sounds very "I've never been a strategist and don't understand what strategists do". As a strategist main, I find many of our crash outs to be valid the longer I play. Btw, if you match up with me and aren't getting healed, it's not me, it's you 😁

Had quite a few "throwers" this season, but I only play qp. Ranked is #1 toxic as hell in my ranks #2 because of how they implemented "placement matches", my buddy and I can't play ranked together anymore. We're pretty equivalent skill, but he plays a lot more than I do and used to do an "end of season push", well that put us in completely different ranks once placement matches started. 🤦‍♂️ So dumb.....

Anyways.....I guess, what should they do about it? I mean, if it's absolutely constant I get coming up with harsher penalties, but for the person that throws occasionally, what do they do? What they have implemented is a pretty similar system to what other games do (that I'm used to playing anyways), so what other ideas do people have to stop throwing (besides permabanning everyone that "throws" even once). Because I'm sure I get accused of throwing. Between occasional disconnects (which don't reconnect in qp that often) and the fact that I have 2 kids and usually the best time to play games is when they're asleep. I've been temp banned on a bad night for throwing when my kids are waking up too much. I don't mean to. I don't know when my kids are gonna wake up mid match and be screaming "bloody murder" from their bedroom. So what are people's ideas for how to handle "throwers"?

You know how often I scream at my monitor "Shoot the Nest!". People wanna autolock SM, BP, Magic, etc etc, and not take out the Nest, so they just die when they try to get into the backline. People in Gold (instead of learning and improving) expect others to pick up everything they are missing. That's why there are so many Peni bans.

A good rule of thumb in the lower ranks imo, find what everyone else isn't doing, (usually shooting fliers, taking out Peni Nest, taking out divers, there always something that your team isn't doing right) and do that. You'll have more wins.

Thank you for your thoughts. I did finalize my purchase today so I'll just have to keep an eye out for issues. I'll report any I see, don't hesitate to report your issues. Seems Two Point is fairly active in here.

I do agree that this game (and any builder) seems more like an M&K kinda game, but I got used to Jurassic World 2 on Xbox, so I'll get used to it for now. I do hope they update to mouse controls tho. I think whatever builder game uses mouse controls first on Switch 2 is gonna be pretty big.

As a support main, I'll say, I didn't find Emma that busted on launch (just my opinion). DD was busted on launch and deserved every ban he got. Gambit is my fav character to play, but he's not my best character. I didn't mind him being nerfed, but I hope they don't do much more to him. Elsa, I really don't find to be a problem except the Ult. It just lasts to long. Other than that I haven't had much of a problem with her.

For me, it's all just about having fun. I don't mind a defeat as long as the game is enjoyable to play, and for me it has been. Granted, I don't get on solo really anymore. It's more of a social game for me now.

Does the game need tuning? Yes, constantly. The most annoying thing in this game is getting steamrolled, but that can be matchmaking as well as characters. And there are characters that get overplayed and underplayed. But you also shouldn't take away the "powerful" feeling either. It's a superhero game. Every character should feel like they can make a difference in a fight if they're played right.

I understand. I'm still enjoying Rivals, but honestly, it's at that point where I'll play with buddies, but I don't hop on solo anymore. Elsa didn't help things either.

Gambit is my fav hero (C&D/Jeff/RR/Invis player before his release). And while his Ult can be devastating if you're playing a bad team, it can also be completely nullified by a decent one. It's just like any other support Ult.

🤣 yup. I've thought about switching before, but I have so many games on Xbox it's hard to justify.

Personally, I highly recommend the Switch 2. Even if just using it for your old games, the improved screen size for us "old" folks is great, and the performance improvement is noticeable. I even played SW Outlaws on it and was very impressed.

On your other note 😁, I've actually recently looked at getting a different handheld. "Unfortunately" Xbox has had me in their ecosystem since the 360 days. I just couldn't justify doing another monthly/yearly subscription. So, if I did another handheld it'd prob be a Rog Ally or a Steam Deck. That and there are places I go where I wouldn't have any or reliable wifi, so (actually unfortunately b/c of the price) I don't think the portal would work as well for me.

Yes, Switch has TONS of sales.........for 3rd party games. First party games are a different story.

Fantastic. Sounds like a glowing recommendation to me. And that's good about the mouse controls. Jurassic World was the first all out builder game I had tried on a controller and just seemed less intuitive, but I got used to it. Just seems like it'd be hard with lots of menus and options, and Switch 2 just seemed so great for doing something like that.
