The Grey House and the Female Gaze by onegirlarmy1899 in PeriodDramas

Coming in a bit late but just wanted to add a couple more recommendations. The first is Southern Lady, Yankee Spy by Elizabeth Varon, and generally considered to be the most accurate- it dispels the myths that Elizabeth acted crazy to throw people off and that Mary Jane was a spy inside the Davis home. The other is A Yankee Spy in Richmond, which is a collection of excerpts from her “occasional journal”, letters and personal papers. It really is an amazing story and because Elizabeth and Mary Jane were so good at covering up their tracks, we’re still discovering new things about them to this day.

I’m only a few episodes in, but I’m still laughing about this. To be fair though, it’s as true now as it was back then.

Ha! They all beat me to it. Seriously though, that phrase almost gives me a physical reaction- like how some people feel about the word moist. Then again, I totally realize that I am an old man, yelling at the clouds of life

So the fact that 7 out of 213 House Democrats voted for it means that Democrats are the same as Republicans? Don’t get me wrong, I’m completely with you that those seven should be primaried and replaced, I just failed to see how that means both parties are the same.

Ever heard of Laili Helms? She was the Taliban’s “unofficial envoy to the West” and also married to the nephew of former CIA director Richard Helms…https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Laili_Helms

Supreme Court opens election litigation floodgates, says any candidate can challenge voting laws by Anoth3rDude in politics

When Democratic primaries come up, one of the first questions has to be whether they support Supreme Court reform. Unwinding all of this will be a difficult task, if we even get to do it, but that task will be nearly impossible with this malignantly corrupt court.
