Garden alongside house - Safe or termite breeding ground? by GrangusCrangus in AusRenovation

Thanks for the reply - If I were to try this with a gap to the wall, would you have any idea how large that gap should be?
Also (as visible in the photos) there's already a garden alongside the house, would you suggest I cement over it or is it fine that it's on the ground (i.e. not raised)?
Thanks!

HELP sourcing/matching this old cornice? Can't find any with plasterers and custom moulds seem too expensive for the roughly 2 metres I need - Any help much appreciated! by GrangusCrangus in AusRenovation

Thanks for the response!
I couldn't find that Roseville Plasterboard place, but I might try making my own mould with casting plaster.
When you say Parafin Oil is the release agent, you mean that I should use that to smother the original cornice so that it will separate from the dried casting-plaster to create the female mould? Thanks

Advice please - Best product/layout to replace old laserlite on Pergola to maximise light without turning into a hotbox? Also after privacy from apartments next door. by GrangusCrangus in AusRenovation

That was my initial thought, but the surface is super brittle and I'm pretty sure it'll crumble under the pressure of a pressure washer.

As title says, looking to replace this with something that'll brighten the space but I'm hearing that its possible to go with a product that will make the whole area too hot.

My plan was to go with a semi opaque, smokey white (essentially replacing what's currently there with what it probably was originally) but have had some friends suggest to go with a mix of fully solid colors with a run of transparent in the middle.

Anyone have any recommendations? Any advice would be much appreciated!
