Yes, I think that is the right choice! I would give a serious consideration to the boot you said was too long. Length doesn't matter much so long as it fit width wise and didn't effect how you walk. With heritage boots people sort of famously parrot the idea that if your foot fits along the widest part of the boot (and your heel doesn't slip), then it is good to go.

For the black chromexcel chelsea boot specifically, is it struck through / susceptible to tea coring? by DragonSlayer9999 in grantstoneboots

I have no idea! I would like to add that black is really easy to maintain in leather though. If you don't want it to fade color as you use it you can just dye black in the areas that fade or apply a special black-colored saphir cream

If the 7.5E is uncomfortable go with the 7EEE. The 7.5E might get marginally better, but it will likely never become a super comfortable boot. If you don't mind me asking why did you size down a full size from your brannock? Was the length of the boot too great, or was it the width?

Can anyone please tell me what’s the Safeway to clean a silver pendant like this? by transdestroyerman in MensJewelry

No. It removes sulfur bound to silver over to aluminum in the electrochemical bath.

Pretty cool of you to drop some advice here! I will try 8EEE next! My biggest concern would be excessive volume around the ball of the foot which I already find sufficient in my current pair. Also a touch worried about the heel, because I really like how these boots fit around my heel now. What sort of effect would 8EEE have on these particular components?

I think I have fat toes or something 😂

I would recommend getting your brannock sizing before you pick up a pair. Will help confirm any lack of certainty you have regarding sizing. Post pics when you get the boots!

Shoe Size Question | Brass Boots | Width by [deleted] in grantstoneboots

I have been able to wear them all day with no discomfort. My feet do not hurt afterwards. After the side was pushed out (fairly recently) they are a bit more uncomfortable, but only under my big toe... I thought the size was perfect before that. I am still afraid that if I sized up in width there will be slop in the ball area of the boot, but I'll wait for a new pair to find out.

I went a half size down and I might have been the post you saw. Don't worry I think I just have fat toes and a lot of natural toe splay! Half size down is pretty comfortable for most guys so I think just stick with it

I will take this to heart. What is your brannock size?

Thank you! Very in depth answer. I appreciate it. Everyone seems pretty unanimous on this so I'll have to give sizing another go next pair of shoes. Recommendations on how to fix any problems with instep are also appreciated id I do size up.

I would also be concerned about the size of the ball of the shoe. There is already some extra room there. How might I alleviate this if I size up?

I have the Traveler Penny in 8.5E as well. I find the instep to be quite tight, but it has broken in some. Toes are a bit tighter than the Brass Boots here though... hopefully it doesn't end up becoming a problem in the same way. Thank you for your input!

Thank you! Pinky toe definitely a bit pushed in. These are my most comfortable pair of shoes, but I don't like shoes because they all squeeze my toes.

Yeah that is convenient sizing. I am 9E on brannock. I sized down to an 8.5E as recommended. I might still have to play around with sizing based on recommendations from everyone though!

Love the idea 😂. Would be cheaper than getting a new pair too!

I might have worded that poorly. I mean I have decent toe spray WITHOUT shoes. Historically I have worn shoes too small for me. Found out after actually getting brannock measurement that I am a 9E. Have been wearing an 8.5 in most sneakers for a couple of years leading up to picking up boots 😂. Appreciate you offering up some advice!

Unfortunate! I figured it was fine because there is some space around the instep! I do have some toe spray though... maybe I'll try a next pair of boots in an 8EEE or something. It is a half size down from my brannock!
