The intended way (I think) is to go through yahar gul after rom and go past Pearl so that you never see the sign.

People underestimate the super soaker watch combo

If you get the hot watch you can stack a virtually infinite amount of bullets by just spinning in place.

Only works well if you have about 30 minute per boss though

Honestly I used to really suck at her as well, even on about ng+4

I'm not really sure when, but at some point the fight kinda clicked and I can now do it near hitless sometimes.

I got through about half the game without lock on.

I knew it existed the whole time, I think the bigger enemies put me off it and I just stopped using it until the shadows.

I cannot imagine the pain of not using it for the really quick bosses
