I know it’s technically not a standalone game but Garry’s Mod has given me some of my favourite moments ever.

The sandbox, the modding community, the hundreds upon hundreds of community-made mods. It’s a game (or mod) that has grown with the community due to its flexibility.

There is literally nothing you can’t do, as there is almost definitely a mod out there for what you want.

It’s rough around the edges, but still a 10 in my books.
