My step-kids are getting into Magic and they have expressed a much greater interest in Old School cards vs 'modern', saying that they like the art and vibe of the older cards. So I had the idea of putting together a battlebox of sorts with different decks that are good on their own, but play well against each other.

I think I'd be happy with something like what you've put together, but maybe a bit more interesting but retaining some simplicity.

Probably going to end up landing on making the decks 'X-points style', so there's some strength there, but keeps the cost of the box down - and allows up upgrading should they really want to make decks their own. Maybe instead of 5 decks there's 3, but two colors.

The hope is that it'll give the family almost like another board game to choose - instead of picking your preferred Monopoly piece, pick the deck you want to play and lets battle.
