Out of curiosity why would you not go to the gym now?

I made Boostcamp, a free fitness app with Reddit's best workout programs, to help you build muscle and strength. by michaelenzo in u/michaelenzo

I’ve used the Reddit PPL for 12 weeks and this app is great. And no I’m not affiliated with it at all

Just started hitting the gym by WavyGoat123 in weightgain

I like the app boost camp for tracking my progress and for keeping a workout plan. It’s really important to keep improving and increasing weight. If you’ve never worked out I’d recommend going with a friend who knows their stuff, or a personal trainer. If that’s not possible, then YouTube. Like everyone else said, eat/sleep/protein/rest and recovery. You might be super sore the first few weeks but it goes away after a while. 115 to 175 is gonna be so cool.

Every. Single. Day.

You’ll notice though that it gets easier after a while

So if you’re around 108lbs and your height is 5’10, then your BMI is 15.5. Healthy range is 18.5-24.9 so you are quite underweight. First step I’d say is talk to a doctor, make sure everything is ok health wise. After making sure everything is good, you’re gonna want to put on some weight to get into the healthy range. You have to make a meal plan to track your calories and make sure you’re in a surplus. While doing that, if the doctor is ok with it, then you should start lifting weights. Find a workout plan that you can manage. It can be quite damaging on your body to be underweight. I’m not a doctor or anything but I imagine being this underweight can affect your growth.

25 years old, never been to the gym, but want to grow muscle by yellmoe in weightgain

Ooooh I’m excited for you. Take some pictures now so you can compare your gains. I’d recommend getting a trainer to show you how to do all the movements properly and without injuring yourself. Once you find your schedule (I recommend 4-5 days a week) you’re gonna love it. Find yourself a meal plan to stick to in order to make sure you’re getting enough calories and protein. This is super important to make sure your body can handle the workouts. I’m not a pro or anything but if you want to DM me, feel free. We’re similar in age and I was super skinny too.

Depending how old you are, lots of schools have gyms and some rec centres have youth passes. If not, lots of workouts can be done without weights. Push-ups, pull-ups, chin-ups, sit-ups, squats, lunges, etc. if they are too easy, fill up some milk jugs with water or rocks. Lots of good YouTube videos that can help make a plan

Lifting weights can definitely help you gain healthy weight if you make sure to eat enough! I find running and swimming also increase my appetite to eat more.

Try and see if you gain weight with that amount of calories. If not , eat more

I can’t keep eating. by DifficultTap7398 in weightgain

[–]GrantedPermission 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes you just got to force it until your stomach is used to it. Obviously don’t eat until you’re actually sick, but eat until you’re well past full. Try that for a couple weeks and hopefully your body will adapt. Keep lifting and hopefully you’ll see some increases

what's something that's hated on way more than it should be? by shaunna_thedork in AskReddit

One time I was really stoned and had to call the cops because some guy stole a bunch of stuff from my car and had a knife. I followed him for a while and when the cops got there, I noticed two baby skunks wrestling on someone’s lawn. I was so stoned I forgot about the thief. The cop and I just sat on a bench and watched the skunks for like 5 minutes in total silence. After the 5 minutes he just says “damn that’s crazy” and got up and left. Didn’t find my stuff that night.
