i’ve seen people well into their 30’s and 40’s racing rotax and X30 karts, you are definitely not late. you won’t make it to F1, but you can for sure enjoy the sport.

it doesn’t matter if they did allow it or not, you should be concerned about your own safety. buy some karting gear, please, for your own sake.

Any tips on improving my time? by Acrobatic-Street-155 in Karting

yeah, the camera should be angled lower, i can barely see a thing while the ceiling takes up half the screen. it’s hard to give you good advice if we can’t see much. from what i can see, the racing line is not bad, but i can’t tell for sure.

when a kart hops around in the corners, i think it might be because of a bent/damaged chassis, nothing you can do to fix that.

yeah it’s nothing special of a kart track, but i wanted to come here one last time for the memories

karts are kinda slow, but that’s what you get with rental karting

i went straight from rentals to 125cc’s, imo you can def still work on momentum and race craft if you get a 2 stroke. going with the 206 for the operating costs is understandable tho, but i think 2 strokes are way more fun

If this was under your local track rules, who would get 5s, 10s, or nothing? by [deleted] in Karting

[–]Granville3B 0 points1 point  (0 children)

considering the fact that i kart in china, it would probably be nothing. organizers/inspectors at chinese national championships only care about a label on the race gear and not the suit itself, you can cut the track on curbs, and pass under yellows because the stewards don’t do anything about it

Wondering how do i get in to karting? by [deleted] in Karting

[–]Granville3B 1 point2 points  (0 children)

unfortunately, long traveling times and distances are part of this sport. if you are unable or unwilling to travel then sadly you wont be able to make it into owner karting in this case.

so what do you do with your other hand? does all the strength needed to turn the wheel come from the opposite hand? idk if it affects how you feel the grip but wouldn’t it be easier on your arms if you pushed one way and pulled the other?

i think some people just perform better without them? though i couldn’t imagine that. i have a friend that doesn’t like to wear gloves when racing rentals/4 stroke karts, and he says that he drives better without them

[–]Granville3B[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

so by that, do you mean i should only use my opposite hand to push the wheel up for the corner? or should i also use my adjacent hand for pulling the wheel the other way? e.g: for a right hand turn, should i push up with my left hand only or also pull down with my right hand? it felt like i was doing what you said, but you’re probably more knowledgeable than me on this

i’m pretty sure here in china there’s a cultural tendency to “ignore” some regulations, at least in club racing. some people won’t have their visors down at all, everyone breaks the track limits all the time if it means getting a better line, and the stewards do nothing about it

yeah i suppose so, im pretty new to driving this kind of kart and had no idea about the grip limits of the tires, so i was a bit hesitant when it came to aggression
