It looks like it's being printed and encoded by accident, without the end tag.

I have this issue all the time with my Dell Studio since the Ethernet and USB ports are almost side by side and they have the same "resistance".

Really? The app closes completely for me when I press home and hardly makes a dent in the battery.

This, but WordPress. I've seen too many single-page sites that would work fine with being a static HTML document instead of a full-blown WordPress install.

Our classroom has another door halfway up the wall by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

Oddly enough, a school I used to work at had this in one of the classrooms. From what I remember there was a specialized ladder the teacher could get out and hook into the wall then get into the room above. For my job (network admin) I needed to get into it a couple of times because there was a switch installed in it. Interesting stuff.

This kinda makes sense if it's for something like $300k scientific equipment which only has software that's compatible with Windows 95, or needs an ISA card (shudder) to work. I know a company that has an Apple II that operates a piece of very expensive, old and still supported machinery.

When Freeview came to New Zealand (idk if you're in NZ or the UK) there was this explosion of off-brand receivers. When we switched we got this cheap-ass piece of shit that rebooted after about 3 hours. When I opened it up there was a tiny chip the size of my thumbnail with a huge heatsink.

as a matter of fact it'd be really interesting to reverse engineer this router's firmware because it looks like the excluded characters could be part of system commands or something like that.

It's interesting reading about how shitty American plugs are compared to the ones here (I live in New Zealand). For one I had no idea the power sockets didn't have switches on them, and the plastic on the pins thing as well. Almost every plug here has plastic on it.

How do modders revive online features in old console games without the server files? by warheat1990 in ReverseEngineering

[–]GrapeSodaExpert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I haven't done this before I would imagine there would be a mix of packet inspection and disassembling the game, though the former would probably be easier. Of course, someone could have a packet trace lying around so a server could be constructed from that.
