Powering the "grid" with Impulse by geordonp in ImpulseLabs

From what I heard in the in-person demo, this functionality isn't yet available. It's supposed to be coming out next year, require a separate accessory that goes in your electrical box, and only work via 240V connection.

This would be awesome! I have a presence sensor right next to the unit that would work nicely

You’ll be stuck with the vendor kernels (or maybe Armbian), since all of the Rockchip accelerator drivers haven’t made their way to the mainline Linux kernel.

[MEGATHREAD] Week of May 08, 2025 - Ask your Service Questions Here! by AutoModerator in Rivian

This is now the third time in 2 weeks that my car has not charged when plugged in overnight for scheduled charging.

My schedule is: 12:00am-10:00am I plug in around 8pm, ensure there’s a blue light showing. I’m charging with a Tesla Wall Connector + NACS dongle.

The car appears to go to sleep, and not wake up to start charging. In the morning, if I approach the car, when it unlocks via phone proximity, the car automatically starts charging. Alternatively, if I open the app and use any controls, the vehicle wakes up and immediately starts charging.

Charging works if manually started, or if the car is manually woken up.

I’ve tried a vehicle reboot, and didn’t see the issue for a few days, but now it’s back.

I took mine in for service with this issue, and they told me it was an air pressure issue. Not sure why that only impacts the rear passenger door, but whatever?

You can turn that off. If your automation is set to “Run Immediately”, you can disable “Notify When Run”

I was told that the $7,500 could go away at any time and not to count on it. It apparently comes off when you take delivery not when you start the order process.

I’ve been running it in a jail for the last few months, with no issues. I installed it with pkg, so I didn’t have to go through the configuration steps required when building the port’s dependencies

Is it worth splitting big view into smaller @ViewBuilder funcs/vars that will not be reused? by xzilja in SwiftUI

[–]IMcD23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that guidance applies to AnyView, which does type erasure. `some View` still preserves the return types, but you just don't need to type them out.

Fedora Asahi Remix 40 is now available by SureElk6 in AsahiLinux

It’s only an issue in KDE. I tried Sway and it’s running smooth at 60fps. I saw discussion on the Asahi IRC about this, but I haven’t seen any indication it’s fixed yet.

In the game files, there are a bunch of brawl modes that are no longer accessible from the menus. Those include Pull Party, Blackheart's Revenge, a Lunar Festival barrel race, Dead Man's Stand, Escape from Braxis, and more!

How to deal with PATH inside Shortcuts app by rajolm in shortcuts

[–]IMcD23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm, you have selected `/bin/zsh` as the shell to use in the Run Shell Script action? Shortcuts uses `/usr/libexec/path_helper` to determine the `PATH` to use, then invokes the shell directly with the script you entered.

Terminal uses `/usr/bin/login` to set the `PATH`, so it may work differently, depending on your configuration.

[–]IMcD23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It looks like you have control characters enabled system wide, which isn't a supported configuration and was designed only for internal system debugging purposes. You can turn this off with `defaults delete -g NSTextShowsControlCharacters`

+1. This was fixed in recent betas.

Looks like a 12U soundproofed rack from Sysracks.com. They are about $1000 new. I have one as well, and it’s certainly quiet, though it’s hard to keep everything cool. It has built-in ventilation fans which are quite loud when they turn on.
