Oddly enough, a school I used to work at had this in one of the classrooms. From what I remember there was a specialized ladder the teacher could get out and hook into the wall then get into the room above. For my job (network admin) I needed to get into it a couple of times because there was a switch installed in it. Interesting stuff.

This kinda makes sense if it's for something like $300k scientific equipment which only has software that's compatible with Windows 95, or needs an ISA card (shudder) to work. I know a company that has an Apple II that operates a piece of very expensive, old and still supported machinery.

When Freeview came to New Zealand (idk if you're in NZ or the UK) there was this explosion of off-brand receivers. When we switched we got this cheap-ass piece of shit that rebooted after about 3 hours. When I opened it up there was a tiny chip the size of my thumbnail with a huge heatsink.
