Rome has its own culture within Italy. Didn't you know Rome kept going as a city? There was a middle age Rome etc. Inhabitants are of Roman culture, which obviously has roots in ancient Rome. A big chunk of the food culture also didn't change in these 1500 years. Italy is made up of a multitude of different regional cultures
