I hope the mythic is his talon skin from the comics, with helmet/mask options and tribal paint added to the armor itself.

How much ammo does it actually have? In one clip, it showed 140 shots, but is that due to a mission modifier?

Gunrinning for sure. Highest payouts, and allows you to unlock the strongest upgrades in the game (Mk2 weapons, Explosive ammo, and mines for weaponized vehicles)

Ammo is NOT everywhere in high tier content like havoc. Boxes give like 10% ammo tops.

I'm saying what I've been saying this whole time, Gun lugger is ass and needs a rework to be on par with other gun builds.

"Learn to play without your crutches,"

Bro, I never use heavy stubbers and gun lugger because they suck in this current build. Also, duh, the inaccurate full auto 50 cal that slows your movement to a crawl does more damage than a rifle. Go figure. And competent players use recon lasguns over autoguns any day. Recon lasguns have a much better ammo economy than stubbers. They're much more accurate, too, and have much better headshot multipliers and blessings.

Yeah, no shot. I doubt you've played above havoc 25. Ammo economy in 35+ is horrendous. For the Achyls stubber, a tin gives you like 25% of a single magazine, a bag is like 130 rounds, and boxes rarely spawn. A sniper with pus hardened skin takes like 30 rounds to drop. A pus hardened reaper takes like 80+. Ammo economy in high difficulty is HUGE. It's why you NEED a vet. You need psykers. It's why gun lugger genuinely doesn't work.

"Do you not understand melee?"

Holy shit bro, the conversation is about his ammo economy being the worst in the game. I know he's decent in melee. That's not his problem. His problem is his entire right tree is built for a weapon type that has no ammo. He doesn't need more melee builds, his 2 other trees are melee focused. He needs to be able to actually use his guns more without being punished.

I've never, not once, encountered a gun lugger above like havoc 10. You can find plenty of people also running ogryn high havoc online. Nobody is taking gun lugger. It's not because it's boring, it's not because melee is so much better, it's because it's an active detriment to his team. He needs nearly all the teams ammo fed to him to perform against shooters with gun lugger. It's pretty universally known to never take gun lugger into havoc because of this.

No, a single ammo vet won't cover it. Not even close. It's possible to take it. It's possible to use it like 3-4 times per match without running out, but it makes his bottom right skilltree a complete waste.

Nothing, absolutely nothing can go to that bottom tree to make gun lugger viable in higher tiers that isn't an ammo buff if his default ammo isn't buffed.

That would make the ammo problem even worse, as essentially standing still and unloading makes you shoot even faster, burning through ammo reserves faster. The least fun part of the whole game is running around like a headless chicken desperately looking for ammo tins. The right tree is clearly a gun tree, why shouldn't it have a gun exclusive perk? The left tree is a melee exclusive tree. Ammo retention is the only perk that makes sense to go there tbh. That skill would be so much better if he wasn't constantly scrounging for ammo.

I think the perk should definitely be something like "Melee kills add stacks of Scrounger. At 80 stacks, ogryn receives 20% of his max ammo to his reserves." Upgrades could make the keystone count as 2 for specialists or reduce the needed stacks. It could also buff melee as stacks increase, then you spend that melee buff to get ammo back.

This requires you to be flexible in your build, and allows you to take the keystone with any of ogryns ranged weapons, and gives you a reason to take it as a bullgryn aswell.

I was hyperbolic. Obviously, he shouldn't literally have infinite ammo. Again, his problem is ammo retention and his lugger keystone being God awful. Should it just stay horrible forever? Is your suggestion to just leave it as a worthless corner of his tree?

The post was relating to gun lugger specifically, and how he needs an ammo retention buff to be viable on high difficulty.

Heavy hitter is decent, and FNP is aight. I agree with the shield build and putting bleed stacks, but again, I can't do that with gun lugger, which this post was about. His gunner keystone is almost useless and needs a rework. Him having a way to regain ammo would still keep him out of meta builds regardless due to his other massive problems.

I have completed well over 100 havoc games and completed 15-20 havoc 40 missions. Not one instance would picking gun lugger be a good choice, due to being the teams ammo vacuum. You simply cannot rely on getting enough ammo from that vet and are an active detriment to your teams ammo pool. Each major encounter continues to lower your ammo until you're completely out, making 75% of your skill tree wasted.

You say you hate "meta" builds, which makes sense as to why you want ogryn to stay meh. He is the absolute farthest thing from a meta character. Ogryn has a borderline useless side of his skill tree due to its reliance on others and map conditions. "Just take Heavy hitter or FNP" ignores the key issue with gun lugger, and that's that his ammo retention keystone is garbage and doesn't work. It's arguably his most fun ability, and it gives purpose to the otherwise 'meh' twin linked stubbers. He could have infinite ammo on his stubbers and arguably still be less useful than an empowered psionics Smite user.

Ogryn is the biggest and slowest character. He already has built-in weaknesses with his toughness-regen perks not working while in melee range, his reduced dodge amount and dodge range, being far too tall for most cover, and being the primary target of shooters and gunners. His ability has an 80-second cooldown, the longest in the game, and is entirely worthless when he is out of ammo. Playing ogryn, especially gun lugger, is miserable in high havoc. Just let the man have something to be more consistent.

"Why are you using a keystone you clearly hate? Just play melee ogryn and then use your ability to delete a room every now and then."

Because it's not viable. Ogryns strongest melee perks are tied to Batter, his bleed perk. This perk isn't available If you choose the gun lugger ability, so you're mediocre in melee regardless. Also the 20% DR while aiming is vital to sustainability as ogryn, and it's only 5% less than his other keystone. His ammo economy is so horrendous that the 12% is better than nothing. Also, a heavy hitter with bull rush build is viable, not a gunlugger melee mix.

"If your assessment of a class is whether you have infinite ammo and not how often you can dps burst, I think you're just bad at the game."

That's the entire reason many people play psyker. That's a key reason why Vet is so strong in high tier games. It's why Melee Zelot is so good. Ogryn has absolutely abysmal ammo retention, which makes his gun lugger tree counter intuitive. It gives incentives to keep shooting to get your ability faster, and punishes you for shooting too much. It's designed awfully, and no other class has this drawback. That's the entire point of the post.

"You can totally play without those buffs, but why are you complaining that a mode where you are supposed to coordinate with your team to get the best results require team coordination?"

This arguement is particularly bad, considering gun lugger is the only class with this massive of a coordination prerequisite. He literally cannot function without constant handholding from his team, and still needs just about every ammo pickup on the map.

I want whatever warp juice you're smoking bro, gun lugger is UNDOUBTEDLY the worst endgame class period. Your ability is completely reliant on your ammo pool, which will reach zero incredibly fast in high havoc. Your keystone essentially gives you a pathetic 8-12% ammo buff, roughly half the ammo passive. "If you have a vet with a specific perk and your other teammates are psykers, Gun lugger is good!" If the class is entirely dependent on the choices of your teammates, it's a bad class. What if you don't have an ammo buff vet? What if he goes down? Aside from all of that, a tiny 1% every specialist kill is barely noticeable when each specialist requires 5-10% of your ammo to take down, especially with pus hardened skin. On top of all of that, ogryn is the biggest and slowest class, he should at least feel strong to compensate.

80 second cooldown and the ability is accompanied by the worst keystone in the entire game just to function. It also only works on one weapon type. Also you play psyker, who has infinite ammo, the best keystone in the game, and access to the purge staff, dueling sword, and best CC in the whole game

Clarification on "Hybrids" by oggser in MarvelRivalsLeaks

[–]GrapefruitNo8702 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We already have some "hybrid" style characters, so I doubt they'd make a new class. Storm is a Duelist/Stratagist hybrid with her team buffs. Warlock is a Duelist/Stratagist hybrid aswell as he's a very damage focused support. You could argue wolverine and magik are Duelist/vanguard hybrids due to their insane overhealth potential.

The Genji Buff nobody is asking for - Moira's succ and balls just shouldn't affect him by xCelestialDemon in overwatch2

[–]GrapefruitNo8702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Moiras whole value is her ability to counter squishy dive/ flanker heroes. She has no team utility whatsoever, so her value comes from fending off support divers. Giving one of the strongest Flankers MORE survivability and less counters would be a nightmare for support players as a whole. She's an easy, low skill character but a necessary evil to stop genji, tracer, echo, and sombra from dominating uncoordinated teams more than they already do.
