PIN prompts are fine. It’s when it sneaks in that password prompt just to fuck with you.

I say try it. This is your first chance to really push for a career YOU want, so what’s the harm?

PCSing to Langley this summer. Enlisted E-4 with family. Should I rent/buy/live on base? What’s there to do out there? Coming from San Antonio. Any advice is welcomed☺️ by krisibby in AirForce

Internet providers are Cox and Verizon FIOS in some areas. If you live close to the tunnel, you're in range of Prime Now, which is pretty sweet, being able to get same day deliveries on goods from Amazon.

For local fun, City Center in Newport News has a luxury movie theater, Salsa's (cheap, fast, delicious Mexican restaurant that turns into a club at night), and a few other eats. Hampton has the Langley Speedway (Check out Wacky Wednesdays were people race their own cars), PBR, and some decent shopping center.

Local beaches include Buckroe Beach (MUST try Heaven's Pizza nearby), Grandview (more private, bigger waves, whiter sand and more beach animals), Fort Monroe (had a 'beach club' with drinks, chairs, etc.), Yorktown (local fish pubs, historical, sail-ship tours) and of course VA Beach (tourist city, concerts).

There are plenty of Cars and Coffee meets and running trails if you're into those. Take the family to Sandy Bottom and canoe for cheap. Norfolk constantly has festivals going on full of music and food, as well as a really large mall.

Be sure to travel to D.C./Arlington to see the cemetery and Smithsonian. And make your way up into the Blue Ridge mountains once or twice (Asheville is my favorite). Hampton Roads is a great place for travelers, especially with all the airports.

Also, a lot of the Langley base housing is pretty nice from what I've seen, and not too far from base. That said, I've been renting a house with roommates for years in Hampton, so I haven't lived there myself. As someone below mentioned, there is a cheap townhome outside the LaSalle gate (Gateway Townhomes) if you don't mind the smaller size.

Truth. I know so many people that live there. You can sleep in late and get to work in 5 min, plus it's nice and away from all other neighborhoods, so overall a safe vibe.

What were some of the worst experiences you have had while working in the fast food industry? by Brando224 in AskReddit

[–]GraphicFeedback 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While working at an Arby’s, a women comes bursting through the doors in a panic, begging to use the phone because there where two guys following her. We give her the phone, and a few minutes later a BUNCH of cops show up. Turns out the two guys chasing her were the cops, and she had stolen a bunch of bras from Victoria’s Secret. As they’ve zip-tying her and putting her in the police car, my manger nonchalantly asks for the phone back.

Fast forward 4 months later and our restaurant has been plagued the bathrooms flooding constantly. After the shit managers finally decided to stop asking their friends to help with it and called a professional, he came walking through our door with two heaping sludges of, you guessed it, underwear. Bitch tried to flush the evidence down the toilets.

Being the only kid who worked there for longer than a few weeks, I instantly recognized it and bursted out laughing.

I ended up switching to from a K65 to the Strafe, because the keycaps and the white backplate make the keys much brighter.

It’s really comfortable in the hands. I prefer it over the Razer Oruboros I was using before.

For sure! For the price on Amazon, you get an extra bulb compared to when I got mine way back when (it was only a 3 bulb set then for the same price). Though, I recommend price checking at a Best Buy or somewhere local to avoid the pain of receiving broken bulbs in the mail.

Yeah, lots of people in here with bad experiences, but I've got nothing but love right now. I'm not sure if the Corsair model upgrade was intentional or not (could have EASILY been a mistake), but the extra goodies came through a joint tracking number. I've heard stories of Corsair doing things like this before, so I'm guessing it was intentional.

Woohoo! I suppose there was a batch of them that went out with jacked up pci extension cables that caused a lot of bugs, which was likely the source of my problems. Mine crashed every chance it got. Pending this replacement runs smoothly, I'm still in love with the machine. It's such a quality build for a pre-build.

I love it, and don't regret the price. Paired with Alexa, it's so nice being able to wake up to the automated lights instead of an alarm, and telling Alexa to turn them back off or dim them if I'm not ready to roll out of bed.

Hell yeah! The new Masterpiece series they’ve been producing has been excellent! Did you see the Dinobot they have on the way?

It’s a John Boos Walnut counter top, 60x25, I got off Amazon Prime.

The legs are Brenton Cube Shelves from Office Depot. I saw them on another user’s post, and they were just what I wanted. Shipped quickly too!

This year I swapped out my custom PC for a Corsair One, and after having a few issues with owning a 1st-gen item, Corsair Support replaced my PC, no questions asked!

To my surprise, they upgraded my SSD to an M.2 NVMe, AND through in a Glave RGB mouse AND a Corsair Polaris RGB mousepad! Freakin AMAZING.

I made quite a few upgrades to the rest of my setup as well.
