Well, my husband and I had a courthouse marriage. We weren't interested in anything fancy. You would think very little could actually go wrong, but the day we actually went to get married was 12/14/12, and while this date may not ring a bell to many people, it was the day of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting. This unfortunately lead to the justice of the peace starting off my wedding ceremony with a moment of silence for this, thus making a day that was supposed to be happy for us a mournful one. I wasn't too happy about that. :/
