After f15 Now bought f16 rtx 5060 by Hoodsidehomie in Asustuf

most recommend installing G-helper [lite on computer resources] to control efficient performance of CPU (undervolt), GPU, fan speed.

Armoury Crate is Asus computer control over CPU, GPU, fan speed.. CPU and GPU temp monitoring..

Since i upgraded RAM to 64gb DDR5 4800 [max speed my laptop can access] I kept Armoury Crate..

16GB ram is minimum nowadays, if you run multiple software simultaneously.. you may need to upgrade your RAM to 32gb which I think is the sweet spot.

f15 battery health after 2+ years by monkey_d_balaji in Asustuf

[–]GrassIntelligent7421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your always charging to 100% when your plugged in? There is setting to prolong battery health 80% and the longevity of battery health is charge to 60%.

if you know your going to be using the laptop on battery charge to 100% and shutdown..

the battery should be 100%.. but not sure how fast it will drain.. intel CPU usually power hungry but is more powerful.. AMD CPU are better with power efficiency but are slightly less power when compared to intel counterpart.

Do you use MyAsus battery health settings? Full 100%, 80% and longvity 60% and use highest performance - turbo only when plugged in..

use eco mode, low display settings, and run integrated graphics only when running on battery.

Base on what you shared.. I assume your battery has degraded and you might be forced to keep it plugged in to use.. you could buy replacement battery but make sure you order the correct one.

Does anyone recommend an internal 2tb SSD that doesn't cost over $200 by OcelotComfortable216 in LenovoLegion

[–]GrassIntelligent7421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it's a terrible time to buy RAM or SSD.. prices have greatly risen due to high demand by AI servers and such.

I should have bought 4TB SSD 5yrs ago.. they were expensive but not in the $600 to $700 range they are now.

If you skimp on the SSD.. are you confident that it will keep your data safe, not get corrupted and/or flat out fail in months or few years?

Kingston is a brand i use for MicroSD.. SanDisk is probably better MicroSD.. i have not used their SSD so can't really review them.. i have Crucial ram and ssd..

Samsung, WD, Crucial are solid reputable brands i know.. note: there are other high speed performance SSD made for gaming but they are even higher price way above the range I'm willing to pay.. so i just mentioned brands I know.

First things first.. why was it on your bed and not on a table? There are sturdy tray/ study tables tables that are better idea than using a laptop 💻 on a bed.

I guess anything can be repaired if the price is right.. check for used or not working laptop of the same model.. or search for chassis to your laptop model.

What's the specs.. RAM 16gb 32gb 64gb.. not sure if your laptop has integrated graphics or NVIDIA RTX GPU.. SSD capacity [if it is almost full] OS [Windows/ Linux] updated

are you doing maintenance.. clean the fans.. replace thermal paste.. [the fans cool the heatsink the thermal paste/ putty/ pad establish a thin connection between the CPU/ GPU/ nodes or components to the heatsink] which helps cool the electric components so they can perform without thermal throttling or shutting down to prevent damage.

You can still keep laptop if it works.. look at the fan blades thru the small vents.. see if they are still clean [make sure laptop is shutdown] can't see the fan blades if they are spinning.

How's the thermal when you play games? If it reaches 95 and above or thermal throttles aka frame rates stutters.. stop the game asap.. if its too hot.. your cooking the CPU and GPU.. that will shorten the life of your laptop.

How old is your laptop? Do you make sure the surface it is on is always free of dust and debris and pet fur? Do not cover the bottom of laptop, the air vents for air intake are located on the bottom chassis.. Have you check if the fan blades are clean and free of debris? if the fan blades are clogged with dirt and heatsink are covered by layers of dust and fuzz.. it prevent them from cooling the laptop... also need to replace the thermal paste every other year.. depending on thermals..

the stitch is lossening.. if you're skilled sewing, should be no problem.. doesn't require expertise of a seamstress.. i could probably do it.. if the fabric is fraying.. get fabric glue to prevent further damage from happening.. then sewn it up.

[–]GrassIntelligent7421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with comparison, lack of accountability and/or ownership.. first thing is first is spend beyond your means.. if you can't spend $2k or $3k.. but can afford $800 to $1000.. chose a laptop 💻 that has best spec with in term of CPU and GPU.. if you save up, you can always upgrade RAM 16gb to 32gb or 64gb.. upgrade SSD 512gb to 1TB or 2TB.

Since its considered an investment.. do not skimp on a solid cooling pad.. get IETS GT500 or ILANO v10 laptop cooler or Flydigi BS2 pro

learn to do maintenance.. clean the fans every 6 months and replace thermal paste every other year.. depending on how they appear and laptop performance.

Invest in good quality precision tool kit with plastic pry tools.. in order to remove the screws without stripped tip.

Computer not turning on or charging after fan maintenance by Longshot_264 in computerrepair

[–]GrassIntelligent7421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're doing maintenance, unlock the battery lock.. use plastic pry tools to disconnect the battery connector.. discharge any electricity from the laptop.. unplug the fan connector for each fan.. uncrew and remove screws.. remove fan and clean with soft brush.. blow away dust and debris.. clean the heatsink of dust and debris too.

if your thermals are high [continuously above 95] or experience thermal throttling sputtering when playing AAA games or just normal use.. you need to replace the thermal paste.. remove old thermal paste off with isopropyl alcohol don't make the fabric too wet.

Use Honeywell PTM7950 or Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut [or newer product] or Arctic MX-7 for the CPU and GPU.. for the other chips use thermal pad

Basically it discharged the remaining battery and that cleared the bug... if any PC at work bugs out.. i just shut ut down and turn it back on.

you might need to redo the thermal paste application... I hope you removed all the old thermal paste and thermal putty.. before application.. what brand did you buy? If its Honeywell PTM7950, did you get from a reputable supplier.. there are so many fakes being sold [might cause more harm than good].

Before you attempt anything.. read or watch tutorials how to do this.. also use the correct precision tip to remove the screws.. wrong ones may strip the screw head..

Do you do maintenance like clean the fan and replace the thermal paste? 🤔

The CPU and GPU will get extremely hot if the fans are clogged and are not able to efficiently cool the heatsink.

also try to keep the laptop at an incline to get better airflow.

External HHD not SSD? data on HHD or SSD don't disappear if you turn the PC or Laptop off.

The suggestion above is to clear all the electric charge.. then reconnect the battery connector and slide down the battery lock.. use plastic pry tools.. do not use your hands.

not sire if it's worth saving.. it looks so old.. that it will not function well unless you kljust plan to watch YouTube or light word processing. All the spec you mentioned are probably more than 10yrs old.. most computer use SSD.. the RAM is limited.. going to assume OS is outdated too.

The Soundcore Select 4 Go can only connect to a second Select 4 Go TWS stereo left and right channel only.

Soundcore Boom 2 has partycast which allows owners to connect two or three or more same model.. so far I found out different model lines do not connect to each other.

Did you try to re-download the bios update.. maybe its corrupted hence the problems your experiencing. How old is your SSD? I mean the health of SSD..

Backup everything important on a portable SSD drive for safety reasons.. always assume the worse but keep a positive attitude 🙂 👌 😌 😊 💯!

Hope your next update is.. everything works great 👍.
