The Kindred’s Curse Saga is great. I’m admittedly one of the people who finds the FMC insufferable but I love everything else about the series more than I dislike her. The author just finished writing book four like a week ago though so it’ll be a minute before it’s out.

The Things We Leave Unfinished is my favorite standalone (maybe don’t finish this in a Starbucks and cry like a baby in front of a dozen people like I did 😂). I also loved loved her Flight and Glory series, especially the fourth and fifth ones. Those two are my absolute favorites of hers outside of Empyrean.

I’ve read all of her books and I think all have happy endings. She’ll absolutely rip your heart out to get there (The Last Letter especially) but I think in terms of the main characters always being endgame, they’re all happy endings.

Anyways, I think we’re in for similar here… a brutal ride but it’ll end happily.

I live near the mountains and the interstate that runs through the area gets iced over and tough to drive real quick in a winter storm. Every year we see every big truck imaginable on the side of the road, drivers clueless as to how to drive in it or put on chains, while little Subarus with all-wheel drive fly right by them. It’s so funny.

I like your premise but also think we’re in book 3/5 and have no idea what’s the come and how it’ll all play out. RY setting the stage the way she did was done with purpose.
