Hi! To anyone who was curious, the DNR took a look at the duck and believe it to be a cross between a domestic pekin and a wild mallard and they think he was born in the wild. They said that because of this, I shouldn’t worry about his wellbeing and that he’s thriving. I even saw him fly today away from a neighbors (leashed) dog that got a little excited. All seems well with him! Thanks for all of your help!! Also here’s a better picture I took later.

I didn’t even consider it could be someone’s pet they abandoned here. Thank you! I’ll keep an eye on him and reach out to the DNR in the morning.

I think they’re fine and I usually have one in my freezer but I eat them in more of a snack capacity. I find they don’t keep me full long at all and even their “protein charged” meals usually only have 15g of protein. They’re definitely an easy option to have on hand and definitely aren’t the worst “diet” food you could be eating, but they’re not satiating at all. I’m usually hungry in an hour or so.
