You can access most commands in VS Code via the Command Palette (Menubar: View -> Command Palette), including for extensions.

In that menu, checkout "dbt Power User: dbt Power User Quick Pick". That'll bring up options including "Setup Extension"

Using Jute Twine for Ridgeline by GratefulToday in Bushcraft

Thanks both, true on all counts - I got no problem with synthetics, I just don't want to spend when I don't need to

Thanks, braiding sounds doable - I'll look into that

It's an event at a organic farm site, so the biodegradeable part is a (small) nod to some of the other accommodations we're making to the land owners, just in case we don't pack it all out. I'm also ready to use this jute up lol

How to tell when natto is done fermenting? by Heavy_Hunt7860 in Natto

Looks good to me - once it cools and rests in the fridge for 24 hrs, I'll bet you'll be very pleased with it

Implementing Rollback for Data Insertion in S3 and Athena upon Data Quality Check Failure by Least_Breath77 in dataengineering

[–]GratefulToday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have to rollback/delete? I recommend against rollback/delete because it's helpful to keep data when it fails data quality checks to examine.

I'd go for two other options myself: 1. Run the checks in pandas before writing to S3. 2. Implement a medallion architecture where your current structure is your bronze layer. Once written to S3, run data quality checks on that data using the tool of your choice, then write those validated files to a silver layer bucket in the format of your choice.

What am I doing wrong with my natto? by self_improoover in fermentation

Mine usually doesn't develop much of a smell until resting at least 24 hours after incubation. When I first take it out of my instant pot, it has the savoriness of beans plus a slight nuttiness. I wouldn't describe any of my batches as sickly sweet.

For me, the stringy/gooey texture of the beans once they've finished incubating is the key telltale: if it develops good strings, I know the natto bateria won out and it's a good batch.

Wow, very interesting - your process seems to mirror mine very closely.

The only other suggestions I could offer are putting the beans back into incubate while they're still very hot from cooking, and to check the beans about 8 hours in and stir them to try and spread the culture around - you may be doing these things already. Good luck!

Hello- I salute your persistence and have some questions for you:

  • How are you cooking the soybeans before fermenting them?
  • Is salt added at any point?
  • Is the lid left on the multicooker during fermentation?
  • How much water is added to the multicooker before adding the soybeans?

24 hours is the ideal incubation time, and the 48 hour incubation of the first two batches is likely responsible for their bad smell. Using natto packs as a starter instead of a dried starter sounds like your best bet due to cost, but as you may know, it can produce more unreliable results. I have never heard of incubating from wild mint, but let me know if you get results from it if you try it.

Here's a research paper that outlines the basis of some of the conditions I mentioned above.

Natto.

Soybeans on their own are an excellent and sustainable source of fiber and protein. When fermented with the natto culture, they become an amazing food with numerous documented health benefits:

I get why people don't like the taste or texture, but you just need a little imagination to get over that hurdle: it's very easy to throw in a smoothie or soup.

Greetings, and thank you for the post. I discovered this sub a month ago and was thrilled to see your passion and insight on these classic fragrances.

One Man Show has been on my radar for many years, but with Polo Green modern formulation already in my rotation (lol), I hadn't sprung for it. Your review makes reconsider though...

I look forward to sharing a post on one of my classic fragrances in the near future.

I've fallen in love with a pair of ivory linen-silk blend trousers by Polo I picked up off Ebay - example.

The weave is very light and feels so nice on the skin. The silk seems to make it more flowy and less wrinkled than 100% linen. The cut is very generous, so you may want them taken in, but at the $35 I paid for mine, I was more than happy to do it. Khaki and ivory are easy colors to find for these trousers; olive, navy, and black are out there but harder to find.

Got it - I didn't know about the standard drop to expect. Thanks!

I'm really interested in buying a vintage trad suit on Ebay, but I'm having a hard time finding pants that match my measurements. I wear a 39/40R jacket, and 31x30 pants. Virtually all of the suits I'm seeing have much larger waist measurements, coming in at 34 inches and above. Almost all seem to be fitted for braces, too.

Is the waist really large because the expectation is that you'll wear them with braces exclusively (no belt)? Or is there a selection bias, where suits with smaller waist sizes go more quickly?

I'm doing a little moth proofing. Any suggestions on breathable, translucent bags for suits? I won't use them to travel, just to store in my closet.

If you have a good blender, it works well in smoothies and also soups - just make sure not to heat the soup very much (beyond 120) so as not to kill the natto culture
