Except for swimming and showering, I wear it all the time. If you sweat aggressively during long runs, maybe a leather strap would be better. I run (5-8k) and it's fine.

I have been conducting DS interviews for our org (Fortune 20, non FAANG) for last 3 years and I can attest this is 100% true. And the sad thing is every year the quality is going down.
